Favorite 2014 I have come to the conclusion that Author Trudy Stiles is out to rip our hearts out and stomp on them. Seriously, she is. She writes with a heart gripping and gut wrenching feel that pulls you into her grasp. She is relentless, but in a spectacular way. Dear Emily showed us just how fantastic of an author she is, but Dear Tabitha blew me away. I was in love with Dear Emily and still am, but Dear Tabitha completed me. I was brought to a whole new level of appreciating Author Trudy Stiles. Her writing was not only flawless, but spellbinding as well. We were left with a sort of cliffy at the end of Dear Emily, one that had me very worried about what Dear Tabitha would bring us. Well not very worried, because a lot of things were resolved but worried about where this next step would take Tabitha in her life. But HOLY FREAKING SMOKES I am still astonished with how the book transpired. Tabitha and Alex numbed me in so many ways, all good ways. Tabitha's growth, along with Alex's, made this story more than I could have hoped for. These were two characters that were broken and torn to pieces by deceit, their own fears, and loyalties. But now they are two people who have kicked those things out of their lives. Sure they are still struggling with some inner demons, and who isn't, but they're dealing with these issues the right way. And I absolutely admire the strength that Tabitha has. And Alex too. But with Tabitha her strength gave us a whole new being. A woman who shared her story with us a better way. In Dear Emily she was so beaten down, and full of self-loathing, so being able to see her in a new light helped me love her more. And Alex, well we got his whole story. A story that had to be told to completely understand him. His own battle with life wounded me, but it also made me get him. It was just what I needed in this book. The cycle of unknown was definitely floating around in this book. I really enjoyed it though. It had me guessing until the last sentence about certain things. And the way the ending tied everything together perfectly, helped me have closure along with each character in this story. I cannot wait to see how the next book in this series plays out. It will definitely be interesting, and it should bring to light things that I was wondering the whole time I was reading Dear Tabitha. Congratulations Ms. Stiles. You really outdid yourself. I am so in love with this series, along with Tabitha and Alex. You completed me. I really didn't think it would be possible to ruin me a little, then build me back up and make my heart soar. But you did. Your words pierced my soul and damn if I didn't cry like a baby. But all of the tears were soul cleansing, and really needed to get your story (their story). I am chomping at the bit for Book Three. I WANT IT NOW!!!(in my best Veruca Salt voice <3) The Forever Family Series is an emotionally charged journey of self acceptance, forgiveness, love, and family. It gives us readers so much to think about and to realize love does conquer all! <3

4.5 - Second Chance - Stars! We originally met Tabitha in Dear Emily. Tabitha has had a hard life. Her mother died when she was 7 and she was bounced around the foster care system until running away at age 17. "I saw unicorns and rainbows before she died, and nothing but snakes and scorpions since." It definitely has not been easy for her, but she has remained resilient and has survived. She thinks that no one understands what she's going thought but that's not true. Alex also had a hard life. His mother died at a young age and his father beat him until ultimately killing himself when Alex was 14. They somewhat bond and start a relationship. Unfortunately they have a misunderstanding and break up. Alex's band then leaves for the tour. They have not had contact in years but his band's tour is over and he is back in town. Alex still loves Tabitha so he goes to see her and see how she is. When Tabitha sees Alex again she knows she has to tell him the truth about what happened while he was gone but she's scared. "Because I'm not ready for him to leave me again." How will it turn out? Will Tabitha and Alex wind up together? How will he handle everything when he's told the truth, especially with the unexpected surprises that come up along the way. This is Tabitha's story of survival, recovery, and a second chance. "I've finally found what I deserve. What I'm meant to have. Family. Happiness. Love. Forever." This book was a great conclusion to Tabitha's story. It made me cry happy and sad tears and really got to me. The author made it easy to keep up with the stories of their past and their present. I couldn't give it a full 5 because I had a few minor things that bothered me but you may overlook them. ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

How do I write a review without spoilers? I want to scream, cry, laugh and let everyone know what happens! This book continues Tabitha’s (Emily’s birth mom) story.  How she’s able to make it through to bring herself back is just stunning.  With so much pain and suffering, when she’s finally able to see joy I’m pretty sure I cheered out loud-much to the annoyance of my family. And Alex.  He is…amazing. Not perfect.  I’ll admit I didn’t love him in Dear Emily, his actions being the only insight.  But the dual POV in this book is well done.  His revelations made me root for him. So many twists and turns throughout this story.  Their journey was beautifully written.  I felt EVERYTHING-even the frustration that was all around them. I want a Kirsten. And a Dax. And a SARA! Chapter 35-well played Trudy Stiles, well played. The tears continued, ugly tears-super ugly tears-joyous tears, all the way through to the end of their story.  When I finished the Epilogue I was all over the place yet so thrilled with Alex and Tabitha’s story.  Love, forgiveness, faith and trust. Dear Tabitha is a must read.

5++++ Stars!! Trudy Stiles did it again. Just when I thought she couldn't top Dear Emily, she did. This was the absolute perfect conclusion to the story of Tabby and Alex. Dear Tabitha is the ultimate story of second chances, redemption, forgiveness and finding your happily ever after.  If I went into detail in this review it would spoil the book for you. Dear Tabitha is not a stand alone, you have to read Dear Emily first to truly understand this book. Tabitha's story is completely heartbreaking, and in Dear Emily we get some more insight to just how bad her past was, and some huge news that I never seen coming.  This book was so emotional. I cried quite a few times and was completely happy with how it ended. Trudy completely blew me away with her writing. She writes characters so well, that I felt that they were my best friends. When they cried I cried, when they were happy I was happy. There was one part in the book that I lost it, and full on ugly cried. I cannot wait to read Trudy's next book. She is definitely on my list of authors to move to the top of my TBR pile.  Stay tuned for Seth's book! Copy gifted from Author in exchange for an honest review.

What an amazing follow up to Dear Emily, showing you that everyone is deserving of second chances even if they don't believe they are worthy of them. Tabitha really shines in this book, she has grown so much and has learned to move on from her past. I just love, love, loved Alex too. He really is Tabitha's soul mate. I love how these two damaged souls found their way back to each other. Thank goodness because I was Team Alex all the way (sorry Seth). Just a gorgeous way to wrap up this story of loss, love, life, sacrifice, second chances and family. Everyone wanting, needing or missing their Forever family needs to read this series. Simply beautiful.

I absolutely adored this book ! Trudy Stiles has me for a life long fan ! Her writing style is awesome and I love the different POV's ! Tabitha's story is so heart breaking but she is so strong to find herself and be able to become an amazing person. Alex is amazing also ! The events that he has gone through and yet was still able to turn into the person he is well it just shows you how strong someone can be. This story is very unique from most anything else I have read lately which is a breath of fresh air ! I would highly recommend this book to everyone. Thank you Trudy Stiles for giving us another fantastic book !!

**Dear Tabitha is Book #2 in the Forever Family series by Trudy Stiles, you need to read Dear Emily (Book #1) first.  This review may contain spoilers if you have not read book 1 :) If you can remember back to December, I FLOVED Dear Emily!  It evoked so many emotions.  Dear Tabitha is no different, in fact I think I cried MORE this time around.  We are given much more information on the past lives of Tabby and Alex.  The insight into where they came from was so incredibly sad.  I really thought we knew all about Tabby’s past….man was I wrong! Trudy takes us on a journey through their pasts and back to the present.  We learn about them as children, as young adults in a new relationship, and back to their current day situation. Dear Tabitha picks us up right where we were left hanging in Dear Emily….Alex has knocked on Tabby’s door, he is back from his two year tour.  It is clear that Alex is confused by his choice, I wanted to hate him, I really did.  We didn’t know as much about him as I thought though….he has feelings that he doesn’t know what to do with. I enjoyed flashing back to some of Alex’s time on tour, it made me realize what he went through when he left Tabby behind. “This isn’t me,  This isn’t who I want to be.  I choke out the words ‘Tabby, what have you done to me?’  How do I move on?” Do you hear that…yeah, that’s my heart breaking and letting Alex in…. And Tabby, oh Tabitha!  She is so strong and has overcome so much.  She has settled into her new life, she really is making it all on her own.  How confusing is this all going to be for her.  She loved Alex, still loves him maybe?  Even I was confused! “I long to touch him again and feel his hands on me.  He takes a deep breath and I watch his chest rise and fall.  I want to squeeze next to him and place my head over his heart.  I want to know that it still beats for me, like mine has for him all of these years.” Alex is not the only thing from her past that is back.  Tabby finds out some news that is going to make or break her.  She has no idea if this is going to be the end of something from her past or the start of something new, maybe it will be both. Throughout all of this Alex and Tabby are trying to figure out what they are going to do, can this work again, will they get hurt and hate each other forever?  Their feelings for each other were so obvious to me and I wanted to yell at them both not to fight it or mess this up.  Alex really is a sweetheart, not the a$$hole that I wanted him to be all along (like I said, I really did want to hate him!).  I loved how patient he was with Tabby but also how he pushed her.  Tabby needed that push, she needed to know that he was there, no matter what. “What matters is right here, right now.  We’ll get over the past, in time.” This is a journey that will tear your heart out.  The past, the present, and the future all come together beautifully to bring this story to an end.  Sorry for being so cryptic but I don’t want to give anything away with this, you HAVE to read this series NOW…I don’t get “stabby” (yes Amy I’m stealing your word) very often but when I do, you know I mean business! “I pinch myself lightly.  Yes, I’m actually here.”

~ My urge to comfort her suddenly turns to a deep need. Desire. She was mine once, and my soul suddenly feels as if she still is. My heart pounds in my chest for this girl who was my everything.~ You know those authors who come out of the gate swinging, delivering a darn near perfect debut novel, and you wonder how they can possibly ever top it? Well folks, Trudy Stiles doesn’t play around. She leaves a wave of destruction in her path through this angst filled, redemption forthcoming, heartbreaking, eye-opening second novel. Dear Tabitha is truly a book you NEED to read and one you won’t soon forget. Do you know the old saying? Every once in a while in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale? Well every once in a while, when you least expect it, an author gives you the perfect book. A story filled with so many emotions, so many twists and turns, that you are literally gasping for breath until the final page has turned.  ~ I kiss the top of her head and squeeze her tight against me. I suddenly realize something that she’s probably not ready to hear.   I love her. ~ Dear Emily was the story of two women, one very special little girl, and the bond that brought them together. Told in dual POV, we barely skimmed the surface of the life that Tabitha has led. As heartbreaking as her tale was, it’s only going to get worse. Stiles doesn’t ease you into this book; no, she hits the ground running. Page after page I turned, hoping for some relief for my poor heart, but the tension just continued. As he was absent in the first book, I longed to read about Alex. We knew the broad details of why he was absent, but not what made him tick or where he was now. The beauty of this book is that it was once again told in dual POV, but this time it was Tabitha and Alex. Let me tell you; he was well worth the wait! Actually, I am mistaken. Technically, it was told with four POV’s; Tabitha’s past and present, and Alex’s past and present. If there’s one thing you take away from this book let it be this: sometimes in order to move forward in the present, you have to reconcile your past. Though we are reliving what brought them to this moment through their eyes, I felt like it was more of a retrospective for the reader. Tabitha isn’t the same self-destructive, screw the world mentality girl that we left in Dear Emily. We see it, her friends see it, Alex sees it, but most importantly, SHE sees is. While we left a shell of a girl, we return to a beauty of a woman. Inside and out, Tabitha’s heart truly is pure. Life has beaten her down but she’s still alive and kicking.  ~My past and my future are behind that door.~ Ah!!!!! There are just so many things that I want to say in this review, but the details have to stop at this point. Believe me when I say that there are some major things that happen, and mentioning even one of them would be a huge disservice to you. Because to truly experience this book, you have to have the jaw-dropping, heart pounding moments that I did. This is one of those books where you are going to be constantly looking around each corner, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Until the epilogue I can honestly say there wasn’t a second I read without trepidation. Delicious, heartwarming, pulse pounding trepidation. And I loved every second of it! ~“I love  you. I don’t know any other way to put it, but I can’t stop loving you. I want to share these moments with you and grow with you, Tabs. Please, let’s not waste any more time.”~ I will leave you with this: the emotions displayed between Alex and Tabitha, when they allowed their walls to crumble and their hearts to open, were enough to make the darkest of hearts smile. Here were two people with pasts SO dark that for all intents and purposes should have just given up on life, yet they were draw to each other, as if there were ever any other choice. As if there were ever ANY way they could NOT be together. Life isn’t always rainbows and kittens folks; I hate to break it to you. But maybe, just maybe, life hands us crap so that we can better appreciate when the good things DO come along. Because how can  you truly grasp the gravity of greatness unless you’ve see what lies on the other side? This was a story of forgiveness, redemption, and growth. It wasn’t until I neared the end of the book that I fully understood the gravity behind the titles of the books. In Dear Emily, she is writing letters that will not only change her life, but all of those around her. She was coming to terms with her decision, as painful as it was. She was making the choice to put someone else’s needs before her own. She was growing up. In Dear Tabitha, once again, letters are being written, and once again, those letters will change lives. One little letter changed the course of her entire life and everything she thought she knew. Little letters after that gave Tabitha her life back. Words on sheets of paper allowed Tabitha to come full circle, and what the outcome of that was, well, you’ll just have to read to find out for yourself. Just know this: it wrecked me, completely and utterly wrecked me. And I’m a better person for it.  ~I’m exactly where I’ve always wanted to be. Where I’m supposed to be. Our forever starts now.~

This is book two in Forever Family series. We met Tabitha in first book, she has had a hard life. She met Alex, but unfortunately, they broke up. They haven`t seen each other in years, when he returns to town. Their story is so powerful and full of emotions. I can't wait to read more from Ms. Stiles!

Tabby seems to have grown up alot in this book, being alone certainly does that to you!!  Having read a few snippets into her past from Dear Emily, I did feel for her and felt sorry that she was yet again in the same position although from entirely different circumstances.  I was looking forward to hopefully a hea for her...... Trudy delivers a wonderful mix of flashbacks to Tabby's past through different ages, which is a great insight into what made her who she is today. I see her as a strong independent young woman who has a few cracks within her that people have given her along the  way, she has a habit of falling into these cracks and struggling to climb out, but she does.  Alex though, he seems to fill those cracks in completely. So it is great that he is back from his tour, we get to go back into his past a  little too and his is traumatic also...... A few surprises in this one which i loved. Beautifully written, it was touching and it did tug on my heart strings. What Tabby went through  with Tony, well that made me sick, he was a vile sick, twisted pig.  The epilogue got me...oh, it got me. Very much looking forward to Seth's story coming soon.

Five freaking stars for Dear Tabitha! *I was given a copy of Dear Tabitha for an honest review. Trudy Stiles writing continues to keep me enthralled with Dear Tabitha, the second book in the Forever Family series. After finishing Dear Emily, I screamed at my Kindle because I didn’t want this story to end. I had to wait four long, agonizing months to find out if Tabitha and Alex find their happiness. I can tell you that it was worth the wait. Dear Tabitha is a heart-wrenching, deeply emotional story about two people overcoming a turbulent past and trying to find themselves…and love. This is not a stand alone read. I highly recommend you read Dear Emily before you read this book. When I started Dear Tabitha, I was angry at Alex Treadway’s character. I rooted for his relationship with Tabitha hardcore! Then he lets things end like that? And Tabitha, you’re just gonna accept that situation? Really? *shuts Kindle cover with more force than necessary* hahahaha Needless to say, my emotions were fully invested in Dear Emily. Dear Tabitha picks up where the first book left off. Alex is devastated by what he sees in Tabitha’s apartment. The feelings of betrayal run through his heart, he leaves her behind vowing never to return. Tabitha is heartbroken and turns to someone for comfort, knowing this is not the right situation for her. As I get deeper in to this book, I understand why they make this soul destroying poor choices. There is one particular choice made by Tabitha that had me conflicted. But I had to realize that these characters have had such tumultuous pasts. From child abuse, dangerous relationships, and questionable life decisions, clearly they both needed time away to grow up. Trudy navigates you through both Alex and Tabitha’s dark pasts with compassion and honesty. I can’t tell you how many times I teared up during those scenes. However, Trudy doesn’t allow these characters to wallow in the misery of their pasts. Both Tabitha and Alex learn from their past mistakes and experiences. And I love that about Trudy’s stories. Her characters mature and grow in her books. The romance in Dear Tabitha is highly emotional. These two people aren’t looking for a quick hook up. Even as Alex is on tour with his band, he resists the lure of groupies and an ever persistent female lead singer looking to bed him. He is deeply in love with Tabitha despite their bad breakup. Tabitha is alone is managing her single status pretty well, but seems lonely. Alex coming back into her life suddenly causes a flood of buried emotions. She still loves Alex! When they consummate their relationship, my heart almost burst out of my chest. The love they have for each other is so strong. I’m pretty sure I had a goofy grin on my face during these scenes. I absolutely loved Dear Tabitha. Her beautifully written story is a engaging mix of emotions, dark themes, redemption, and personal growth. I’m come to love Trudy’s characters like my own family, screaming at them when they do stupid things. hahahaha It’s books like Dear Tabitha that remind me why I love indie. authors so much. It's exciting to discover such wonderful writing from new authors like Trudy Stiles. I give Dear Tabitha 5 out of 5 stars! Written by Dee McGee - Booze, Bookz, and Bad Boyz

Trudy Stiles has written another achingly beautiful story. Tabitha and Alex's stories are heartbreaking in the tragic details yet inspiring as they overcome their pasts to reach for their forever family.  In Dear Emily, we got some details about Tabitha's past but not much about Alex's. In Dear Tabitha, both of their pasts are described in haunting detail. That either of them survived is nothing short of amazing. It's been about two years since Tabby made a mistake and Alex walked away. Two years in which they've each grown up and have become much stronger individuals. Although we're not present from most of that growth, it was incredible to see the changes - particularly in Tabby. She's strong enough to tell Alex everything, even if it causes him to walk away again. Alex is astounded at the changes he sees in Tabby. He's so proud of the woman she's become - the woman he knew she could be. He can't seem to read her though and is hesitant to let her know how he feels. Once Tabby shares all her secrets, Alex is uncertain he can forgive her. When a turn of events leads Tabby back to Portland, the place where she lived through hell, Alex decides that enough time has been wasted between them and he'll be there for Tabby in whatever capacity she'll let him. I adored seeing how much these two broken souls heal. They weren't fixed but healed enough to move towards forgiveness and family. I'm not sure why Tabby and Alex's story resonated with me so much. There was such a pull between Tabby and Alex. They'd each suffered so much and could relate to one another on a level no one else could comprehend. The honesty they shared - it evoked so much emotion in me. I'm grateful to have read their story. And I'm eager for the next in the series.

Trudy Stiles continuation of her Forever Family series with book 2, Dear Tabitha, is just beautiful. Don't get me wrong. There are major ups and downs in this story, but it IS beautiful. And there are surprises around each corner...a great continuation from Dear Emily!

***Dear Tabitha is BOOK TWO in the Forever Family Series. Dear Emily should be read FIRST as this is NOT a standalone book.*** Tabitha was a character who I very much was pulling for in Dear Emily. She had faced so much pain in her life and was once again being forced into a decision that was truly heartbreaking. I was so happy to feel as though she was in a better place by the end, It really seemed as if she had found peace with her past and decisions that were made. But then she opens her door to the one person she never expected to see again. Alex. It has been over 2 years since he walked out on her. She had accepted the fact that things were truly over for them. But seeing him again, brings back all those feelings she had worked so hard to bury. As a reader, I was SO conflicted on how I felt about his return. I didn't really get to know Alex in the first book, since he was gone. So, my alliance was to Tabitha and I didn't want him to cause her to have a set back when she had come so far.  At the same time, I felt like it might be therapeutic for her, if only to give her the closure she never really got in their relationship. And then of course there is the matter of Emily. How will he react when he finds out about her and the choices Tabitha made regrading her future? There were so many questions I had at the start!! Thankfully the author answers them all and them some by the end.  Dear Tabitha will take you on the journey of not only her and Alex finding a way to move past decisions that were made and finding a way for each of them to move on, but also a look into their past. You get a better understanding of the lives they lived and how that shaped them into who they are now. It is a emotional roller-coaster to say the least.  A beautiful conclusion to this series! I can't wait to read more from Ms. Stiles, as she has a wonderful gift of creating a story and characters that are so easy for the readers to feel connected to!!

4.5 Stars I’m going to start this review by letting you know that when I read Dear Emily, it wasn’t a 5 star for me. I know, I know! A LOT of people really connected with it so I know it resonated with many readers. When I gave my feedback to Trudy Stiles on Dear Emily, she was the most professional person and completely open to my thoughts. Because of her graciousness, when she approached me to read Dear Tabitha, I was more than happy to give it a go. Do note: you will need to read Dear Emily before Dear Tabitha. And am I ever glad I gave Dear Tabitha a chance! I fell in love with Tabitha’s and Alex’s story! I was completely vested in their potential relationship and the steps needed to get there. One of the aspects that I enjoyed was Trudy’s continued use of the transition between past and present. She managed that process very well, weaving aspects from the past that melded with what was currently happening in the present. Also, I thought the dual POV was well-done and helped me connect with Tabitha and Alex. In Dear Emily, I struggled connecting with the characters, which I did not find was the case here. When Alex was angry, so was I. When Tabs’ heart was breaking over the horrors she faced while in Portland, I was sick for her. This story is one of redemption, love, forgiveness, finding peace, and family. I applaud Trudy for continuing Tabitha’s and Alex’s story, while at times was beyond painful but had so much potential for finding exactly what they both needed in this life to be whole. I also loved the small glimpse into Emily’s life. It added so much to the story and enhanced my emotional connection even further. Overall, Dear Tabitha had me completely caught up in Tabs and Alex, their friends and family. I’m really pleased I took the chance to read it and enjoy it. My heart still throbs with feeling for this one, even a couple of days later. And what a great reminder that even if one book by an author doesn’t hit the 5 mark for you that you should give their other work a chance.

Amazing follow up to Dear Emily. Trudy Stiles has certainly outdone herself!
