Overview

Mary Malone, a single and recently unemployed teacher, finds herself subletting her brother's apartment with her widowed aunt while he, a private investigator, is out of town and takes on the case at the Bar X Ranch intended for him. Despite Mary's fear of horses since four-years-old, she tackles the task head-on with the help of Aunt Zoe, and Mrs. Grimshaw, a neighbor across the hall. But, can this easy-going gal solve the crime at the Bar X Ranch with three very deceiving men lurking about before another crime is committed?

About the Author

Marlene Chabot, a semi-finalist in the 2016 Neoverse Writer's Competition, has been writing mysteries since 1995. Her freelancing career for magazines, such as Her Voice, and other entities in her native state of Minnesota began in 2007. She has a B.S. degree in education, an A.A.S. business marketing degree, and a certificate from the Institute of Children's Literature.
