Overview

In this sequel to DEATH LEGACY, New York, psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Reiner is contacted by a woman who claims she was married to his father after his mother’s death and his father’s disappearance from his life. Tiffany Tyler asks Daniel to take charge of the girl she claims to be his half-sister. But when Daniel tries to make contact, it seems the girl has disappeared.

Daniel wants to hire Michelle Hallam to help him investigate the situation in Las Vegas, Nevada. Michelle’s deceased uncle, a former British intelligence agent, operated an international "consulting firm" which she now runs. Michelle and Daniel share some past history as well as a strong physical attraction but Michelle remains wary of him. Action, romance strung along by a murder mystery. The stakes are high and the heat level is super hot between Daniel and Michelle. This couple isn’t new to attraction, but after giving up on love once before, there is no way Michelle will fall for the handsome doctor again. Pulled together by a investigative issue, the couple rolls the story to the glam of Las Vegas and focuses on Daniel’s long-lost teenage half sister. Never a dull moment between the casinos and brothel scenes. If you like action and romance, don’t miss, Death Promise.

Death Promise by Jacqueline Seewald – Reviewed by Susan Coryell Jacqueline Seewald’s latest release, Death Promise, is sure to please readers who love romance suspense thrillers. The sequel to Death Legacy features international consultant Michelle Hallam allied with psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Reiner in an investigation of a suspicious phone call involving Daniel’s half-sister whom he has never known about previously. The investigation takes the pair from New York to Las Vegas where high-stakes gambling, kidnapping and prostitution ramp up the excitement as Michelle and Daniel work to solve several mysteries revolving around Beth Tyler, Daniel’s teen-aged half sister. Author Seewald skillfully weaves the romantic tension between the two into the fast-paced, action-packed conflict; Daniel wants to marry Michelle, but the dangers of her professional life and her own sense of self-preservation make her reluctant to give in. Keeping the reader guessing on all fronts, Jacqueline Seewald offers yet another compelling novel in her large and varied repertoire. Highly recommended.

This was a fast-paced book. Daniel Reiner is contacted by a woman he doesn't know claiming she has a daughter who is his half-sister and asking him to take charge of the girl. Daniel hires Michelle Hallam, who has a consulting firm, to help him investigate. Daniel and Michelle have past history and strong chemistry but Michelle is wary of getting involved. The investigation becomes complicated, and Daniel and Michelle have to count on each other to get through it safely. I enjoyed this book and would read other books by this author.

This is the sequel to DEATH LEGACY. Even though a sequel, this one does well as a stand alone. As always I do recommend reading in order, though. Dr. Daniel Reiner, a psychiatrist is contacted by a woman who claims she was married to his father and that he has a half-sister. She has parked the teenage girl with an uncle but wants Reiner to take her under his wing. He goes to Michelle Hallam to help him investigate. Michelle is well trained as an operative and runs an international consulting firm. He's not going to take the word of someone he does not know about a girl who may or may not be his sister. He and Michelle have a past, and Daniel would like a future with her, but she's having none of it ... at least for now. When they travel to Las Vegas to meet the girl, she and her uncle have disappeared. And "businessmen" that knew the uncle are dropping dead all around them. So where is the girl? And what was her uncle involved in? And who are the men who are trying to kill Daniel and Michelle? This is a well-paced novel combining elements of suspense, intrigue, and romance. The characters are likable and the story premise is a good one. Many thanks to the author / BooksGoSocial / Netgalley for the advanced digital copy of this Romantic Suspense.
