Overview

Deceit can be Deadly by Nicky Charles

Gwyneth has no use for Lycans but a string of dead bodies has brought one of the dogs right to her door. Can he be trusted or is he merely accomplished at deception? And why do the murders seem to lead right to the heart of the Universal Coven to which she belongs?

Meet Gwyneth O’Donohue – a powerful witch with an attitude, Matthias Bendov – a soft-hearted werebear, and Dante Esparza – a Lycan and soldier of fortune who has a score to settle.

Love clashes with an ancient curse in the latest instalment of the Law of the Lycans.

About the Author

Nicky Charles is an independent writer/publisher who became an author quite by accident. For many years she wrote as a hobby, seeing herself a 'reader not a writer'. Now a full-time author, she thanks-or blames, depending on the day-her friend/editor and fellow author, Jan Gordon, for the career she now finds herself immersed in.
When she writes, Nicky sees the story unfolding in her head like a movie and tries to include enough detail so readers can 'see' the story just as she does. The sights, sounds, smells and sensations of a scene are almost as important to her as the actual plot.
Nicky lives in Canada and tries to stick to Canadian spelling and punctuation in her work. She is an avid supporter of animal shelters, nature conservancy, food banks and a variety of other charities. Currently, she has three 'official' cats though a number of strays seem to take up residence in her garden each year.
When not writing, Nicky enjoys reading - though she often bemoans that she seldom has time for it any more. She also enjoys spending time in nature, gardening, taking day trips and eating dark chocolate.

Law of the Lycans is an awesome series. You fall in love with the characters. Best of all she ends each book no cliffhangers forcing you to buy the next one. You will away but it's always nice when it's a choice. If you like the werewolf books Nicky Charles is a must add author!

I look forward to each new book from Nicky. These stories are a mix of magic, menace, and all the resulting emotions that drive 'people' whether they are lycan, witch, or other shifter. I can't wait for the next.

This was a bit of a slow burn, but I believe it suited the characters. All the suspense and charm I have come to expect from a Law of the Lycans novel was there. The writing was strong, the story gripping and at times emotional. Turned out there was so much more to Dante than I ever expected. I loved the new characters and getting to spend a little time with some old favorites. Not sure I cared for how things were left between Damien and Dante, though I respect the realism. Will we be seeing more of Matt and Roxi? Love me some bears! Look forward to reading more in this series. Nicky, you still rock! One of the first PNR authors i ever read and still one of my favorites!

Wonderful story and telling of Dantes past. It's been quite a while since I've read the previous book in the series, but I didn't have any problem remembering what happened because this book was an extension of that one. Suspense from beginning to end. Loved it
