Each display entry begins with a quotation relating to the topic, followed by a comprehensive description and development of the topic, including famous writers, historical events, nature, and cultures of the world. Entries feature a personal note relating to how the author chose the display subject, step-by-step instructions on constructing the display, and, finally, some additional 'bigger and better' ideas for the display. The author incorporates easily found items to be part of the displays as well as collectibles and antiques that add special components to the displays.
