Overview

Dorothy loves cats more than anything. Her mother takes her to an animal shelter to pick out any cat she wants, and Dorothy loves a cat that looks very different from any other cat she has seen. Everyone Dorothy meets thinks that the cat is silly looking, but Dorothy loves her, and thinks that what makes the cat unique is also what makes her so special.

About the Author

Sophie Bailey is from San Diego, California. She studied poetry, short stories, novel writing, and children's literature at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in writing. Her stories are heavily inspired by her wonderful family, friends, and mentors. When she is not writing, she spends as time as she can outside. She enjoys lounging on the beach, collecting sea glass, free diving off the California coast, hiking the many Southern California trails, and experimenting with her mother's espresso machine. She plans on continuing her writing career and expanding her imagination for the rest of her life.

Juliette Sallaway lives in NH with her partner and two dogs. She loves drawing, graphic design, games, books and music. She is grateful to Sophie for trusting her to bring Dorothy and her patchwork kitty to life and hopes you love them as much as she loved drawing them.
