Purpose: It is intended as a technical manual for those performing double-balloon endoscopy. This is a new endoscopic technique currently making its way into clinical practice. Dr Sugano is the inventor of the double-balloon endoscope.
Audience: The book mainly targets practicing and in-training gastroenterologists and general surgeons.
Features: As an introduction to a novel technique, the book sufficiently covers technical aspects. I particularly appreciate the excellent graphics and welcome the accompanying DVD-ROM.
Assessment: This is a well written book that will help guide practicing gastroenterologists in the performance of double balloon endoscopy.
