About the Author

Ellie Ashe has always been drawn to jobs where she can tell stories—journalist, lawyer, and now writer. Writing quirky romantic mysteries is how she gets the "happily ever after" that so often is lacking in her day job. When not writing, you can find her with her nose in a good book, watching far too much TV, or trying out new recipes on unsuspecting friends and family. She lives in Northern California with her husband and two cats, all of whom worry when she starts browsing the puppy listings on petfinder.com.

More humor, mystery, some intrigue, and a bit of romance on the side. This time the show was not all one woman, but you still got a very big dose of Miranda. I enjoyed having more of Jake. There antics at the resort that were just what was needed to make this a little fun and play. The mystery around the embezzled funds just grew into much more than it started out being. The simple investigation take Miranda on another wild adventure. This time the ride was a bit less hazardous to one safety and health. I guess that would depend on how you look at things. The action was not as consuming as in the first one, but for a cozy mystery I do like it with a bit less action more who, what, why, how. Miranda worked to get her mystery solved and the bad people put in their place. This was a good read for me. The Narrator . . . of DROPPING THE DIME (Miranda Vaughn Mysteries, #2) . . . Terri Schnaubelt had returned and gave me another good read that gave me more of reason to fall a bit more in love with Miranda and the mysteries she kept stumbling into. Terri made the cadence simple and steady. The ease of things allowed for the flow from scene to scene to be seamless. As with the first audio in this series, I found the quality smooth and professional. The timing was just what was needed to carry this second installment over.

Another excellent mystery headlining Miranda Vaughn! She works for the lawyer who saved her from a wrongful fraud charge and who now is personally involved with her aunt. A new case comes in where her expertise is needed. She meets some real high fliers, does a spot or two of questionable entry, faces the same FBI agent, has her car involved in an explosion, and gets shot at. But there's lots more, and enough plot twists to make your head spin! Reading the first book is not a necessity, but another totally enjoyable work. I requested and received a free audio copy of this one because I had really enjoyed Chasing the Dollar last year.

I was so happy to finally get to read this book--now I'm back to the sadness of waiting for the next . Another great book from Ellie Ashe. Miranda is not the criminal in the book but she finds herself right in the middle of all the action. I want to move to Miranda's town---lots of great looking and morally righteous men LOL. The mystery will keep you guessing. It is a hilarious and quick read. Looking forward to the next one.

I was so excited when the second book in this series came out. What a fantastic addition to the series. I really enjoyed learning more about the characters.  It was nice to see Miranda's character grow and mature. I can't wait for the next one!

Dropping the Dime was a a great continuation for this Romantic Suspense Mystery. Interestingly, while reading the book, I failed to pay attention initially that this was  the next book in what is now a series. I'm reading and recognized names and became instantly happy. Miranda and Jake were back. I wondered what happened to them. However, now its a potential love triangle.  Yes!!  There's mystery, intrique and a strong hint of romance. There's bombs and espionage. There's new player and old player. This is a book that needs to be read and the follow up book has to be right behind it because.....I CANT WAIT.

Well paced, good mystery, great chemistry, some real twists, and wonderful writing. Dropping a Dime is at least as good as Ashe’s Chasing the Dollar and I loved that one.  Miranda has only seen Jake once in six months but she can’t forget about him.  On the other hand, she doesn’t expect him to turn up in the newest case the law firm she works for has accepted.  Things have been going well with her job as financial consultant to the lawyer who got her acquitted of federal fraud charges, but if things keep going the way they are on this case, she could end up in prison anyway.  And there is a new guy in the picture and he is awesome.
