Drug Lords of Oakland: The untold stories of California's most notorious Drug Kingpins of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s
On the heels of the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Panther Party came the heroin and crack cocaine epidemics that stirred up pandemonium in Oakland, California. The streets were under siege by powerful and ruthless drug lords like Big Fee, Mick Mo, Lil D, Hollyrock, and Larry P. When other cities in California were gang banging over colors, the notorious hustlers in the Town ran sophisticated drug rings called Machines that generated millions of dollars. Using murder, mayhem, and mob tactics, these vicious drug lords carried automatic weapons and turned entire neighborhoods into fortresses that law enforcement couldn't penetrate. The residents in the communities were in awe at the spectacle of these young black millionaires parading around in their Bentleys, Rolls Royces, and Ferraries, flaunting jewelry fit for a king and wearing mink coats while still in their teens. Journey into the depths with these black godfathers and enter their territories. Witness their meteoric and oftentimes hostile takeovers of one of the United States most dangerous cities.

About the Author

Titus Lee Barnes is a 47-year-old Oakland, California native. He was raised during the 1970s, '80s, and '90s when crack was king and there were literally teenage millionaires on the blocks. At the age of twelve, he came off the porch to participate in a life of crime. By the age of fourteen, he was a member of a notorious drug organization in West Oakland. His street career would span three decades. He has now put the game behind him and embarked on a career as an author. His motto is, Each one, Teach one. This is the first of his many planned novels. Stay tuned because the lessons of one are many.
