About the Author

Zoubida Mouhssin was born in Casablanca, Morocco, and moved to Belgium when she was two years old. Both her North African and Belgian cultures are important to her work. The French language is Zoubida's first love, but she is comfortable with other languages and is a translator for English and Spanish. She began writing and telling stories for children when she met Pascale Moutte-Baur and they began collaborating together and created this book. In 2016, they were nominated for the Key Colors Award of the City of Hasselt in Belgium. Pascale Moutte-Baur was born in Marseille, France. She spent ten years living in Germany and now lives in Brussels, Belgium. As a child, Pascale spent hours looking at illustrations in children’s magazines and admiring beautiful picture books. She was rarely without a pencil in her hand. Pascale began her career as a French teacher, but later graduated as an illustrator at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Her graphic work is inspired by her colorful native town of Marseille and the diverse world she lives in.
