Overview

While modern audiences are more familiar with Eddie Murphy in the role of Dr. Dolittle, this DVD should help to remind everyone that Rex Harrison played him first. Doctor Dolittle comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 4.0 and Dolby Digital Stereo, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials are limited to a theatrical trailer. 20th Century Fox has done a fine job with this older title.
