David McVicar's 2005 Glyndebourne staging keeps the drama very much physical. Singers run around and slink, fight and crumple to the floor. They do somersaults and campy Bollywood dance routines.... You'd be hard-pressed to come up with a finer cast.... William Christie gets splendidly dramatic, stylish playing from the period-instruments orchestra. [Grade: A-]
