The Cable Guy
Originally planned as a silly vehicle for Chris Farley, in the hands of director Ben Stiller and star Jim Carrey, The Cable Guy became an opportunity for Carrey to flex some of his darker comedic muscles as stalker Chip Douglas. Matthew Broderick plays Steven, an average Joe who is forlorn over his recent breakup with girlfriend Robin (Leslie Mann). When he moves into a new apartment, Steven comes in contact with Chip, who shows up to hook up the cable. Before he knows it, and whether he likes it or not, Steven has a new best-friend in the obnoxious and clingy Chip. However, Steven soon learns that obnoxious is a walk in the park compared to Chip's behavior when Steven tells him he doesn't want to be his pal anymore. What's worse, no one -- including Robin or his family -- believes Steven when he accuses the seemingly harmless Chip of being a malevolent menace. George Segal and Jack Black also star along with Stiller, who plays twins loosely-based on the Menendez brothers.

This film is not a typical funny colourful Jim Carrey film. It is a dark sad film about a man named Steven (Matthew Broderick)who is being stalked by Jim Carrey, come on... how is a film about a stalker susposed to be funny...I being a big Jim Carrey fan was looking forward to viewing The Cable Guy but I was disappointed in the end result. Seeing Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy gave me a bad impression of him as an actor, and made it very hard to believe that Jim Carrey in The Cable was the same Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar and The Mask.
the cable guy is full of darkness. Its just the perfect movie for whom ever loves jim carrey. He does a great job as chuck the cable guy!
okay so all the other films he made were funny well so is the cable guy but its a differnt side of Jim Carrey most people didn't like this movie but i like it even though its not as good as Dumb Dumber Ace Ventura or even The Mask but i laugh at it even the part when he sings on the karoke machine LoL now thats funny still this is a pretty good movie
