About the Author

Living in rural New England, I'm an IT professional by day, Keto cook at night. I've struggled with my weight my entire life until I discovered the Ketogenic way of eating. What I didn't realize when I reluctantly started this counter-intuitive way of eating (what, fat isn't BAD??), is it has amazing neurological benefits as well. The deeper I got into this, the more I wanted to make this not just another 'diet,' but a sustainable way of living. Many of the common low carb recipes I found are too complex or not quite the same as the 'real' thing. Naturally curious, I dove into trying to create my own 'ketofied' recipes. I started blogging to keep track of them. Nicknamed 'The Hobbit' because of my physical stature and love of 'second breakfast,' I created a blog called She Calls Me Hobbit to post up my recipes and random ramblings about our life here in Maine. I was surprised to find as I shared them with others, they liked them as well. This energized me to continue to create and experiment. Along the way, I noticed another person doing similar things but with a definite International flair. The friendship with Tyo Prasetyo, the 'Keto Iron Chef' from Jakarta, Indonesia, came easily and quickly. Although our styles are decidedly different - I like to think of myself as a Keto local diner-type cook while Tyo is more gourmet and cultured - we had many common bonds. We use similar, unconventional ingredients, we love to create not only ketofied versions of traditional recipes, but our own creations as well, but most of all, we share a common philosophy - ketofying foods can make this a sustainable way of life. Food is an integral part of our society, bringing people together daily. Ignoring this core part of our lives is a common thread of 'diets.' We both recognize the need to bring food to the table on our terms, for the betterment of our lives and those we care about. As the friendship grew, I realized many of Tyo's recipes were getting lost in the shuffle on Facebook. His lifestyle didn't easily support blogging or other methods of keeping track of them and organized, so I took a leap and offered to blog them for him on my blog - http://shecallsmehobbit.com. The Ketofy Everything! series, it's not just a title, it's a philosophy, a way to make a 'diet' a sustainable way of life.
