I won't lie when I first received this book, I was overwhelmed by how much information is involved. It is definitely not the end-all dieting book or miracle health guide to curing any ailment that millions of us are looking for. However, when I sat down to finally read it, I found out it was an excellent companion to another book that I love that has already helped me eat better to live better called "The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution." This book, Eat To Beat Disease" is divided into three main parts: part one explains each of the body's natural defense systems, part two explains is on what to eat to beat diseases, and part three is on planning, choosing, and what to do with these foods, with something the author calls a 5 x 5 x 5 framework that the author has created that makes it easy to incorporate these foods. It also has a chapter on "Exceptional Foods" and "Sample Meal Guide and Recipes." With that said, if you are looking for information on what to eat to help our body's natural defense system this book should be one of the top ones you choose. However, if you are looking for a sensible way to lose weight, I have lost an incredible 12 pounds using it, and best of it provided me with the easiest ways to keep that way off since last Christmas, I highly recommend Chef Jai Scovers' "The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution." It is the only weight loss guide that I wish I had sooner. It is a must-have.
