About the Author

Katrina Duranceau has always been deeply passionate about animals. She has spent her entire life surrounded by furry friends, and her love for them grew stronger as she got older. However, when her beloved dog Kiko passed away after 14 years, Katrina found herself struggling with processing her grief. As she worked through her grief, Katrina realized that there was very little recognition and support available to those suffering from pet loss.

After earning an undergraduate degree in social work and a master's degree in thanatology, the study of death, dying, and grief, Katrina dedicated herself to bringing compassion and understanding to those grieving the loss of their beloved animal companions. She works to create unique ways for people to process and navigate the difficult and often overwhelming experience of pet loss.
