Edward
'Edward' is a short story that describes the journey of a character from a life of endless, repetitive activity to one of semi-paralysis and pet discontent. Through hypnosis Edward experiences immense despair; partly from physical pain, partly because the box was uncomfortable, but mostly because he lost his favourite hat. Infinity, who turns out to be very mean, presents itself to our hero, who gallantly, but by no means deliberately, conquers his curse. While this is good, Edward remains unsatisfied. It severely damaged his relationship with his cat.
