Overview

Only one woman can persuade him to embrace his powers...

Brandon Merrick is determined to banish his shifter nature forever. The charismatic tattooed surfer is on the cusp of the ultimate challenge – to prove himself on the whitecaps of Hawaii and secure his future as a pro surfer. But his dragon isn’t prepared to be tamed so easily…

One look at marine biologist Liz Barrett ignites the spark of the firestorm: Liz is his destined mate and his chance for happiness. While Brandon sees their first night together as just the beginning, his dragon seizes the upper hand. Awakening in the company of a raging dragon challenges Liz’s ability to believe her own eyes. Can Brandon accept his inner beast in time to make it work with Liz?

Neither one realizes that Brandon is caught in an ancient Slayer‘s scheme to enslave him. When the deadly plot ignites, the very island will be at risk…and Brandon and his mate could be the ultimate sacrifice.

This Dragonfire romance takes readers to Hawaii where they become caught up in spine chilling exploits and flames of passion. Brandon an Liz are two bold characters that stand out and they demand readers’ attentions from the very beginning. Both characters are suffering from an identity crisis, which impacts their present situation to dangerous degrees. Brandon has a kind of sexy, laid back personality but it so full of emotional turmoil that he can’t see the truth in front of him and Liz has a take charge and fix it personality but also is vulnerable to her secrets. While the romance is full red hot firestorm passion, this couple is so full of emotional issues that their happily ever remains questionable throughout, although after learning their stories, readers can blame them for the way they feel about the other parts of themselves. The plot is fast paced and super charged with lots of thrilling suspense and explosive action that gives readers a vicarious thrill as they follow this couple along their dangerous journey toward their destiny. Betrayals, manipulations, goddesses and surprising twist add to all the excitement which includes an introduction of a new element to this series. A fascinating paranormal person that is unique and quite intriguing, one that compliments the Pyr. There is no way for readers to pick a favorite book out of this series because they are all so sexy, daring and full of wonderful elements that fascinates and Ember’s Kiss adds so much more to love and ensures that will readers will want to re-read this book often.

This was another fantastic, well-written story in the Dragonfire novels series. It was sweet, romantic, steamy, action-packed, funny and even heartwarming. Each time I read a book in this series I think it's the best of them all, and then another one comes along and I love it just as much. This book was great and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series as well as other books by this author.
