Inordertousetheexistingandemergingfunctionsofdistributedobjectte- nologiese?ectively, andtobettermeettoday'sdemandingbusinessandcomp- ingrequirements, advancesinsoftwareengineeringmethodsandtechniquesfor distributedobjectsarestronglyneeded. Softwareengineeringfordistributed- jectsistheresearchareathatprovidessolutionsofprovenpracticeforissuesand problemsthatareuniquetosystemsemployingdistributedobjecttechnologies. EDOis the premierworkshopthatbringstogetherthe researchandpractice communityofsoftwareengineeringfordistributedobjects. Wereceivedabout30submissionsandtheinternationalprogramcommittee selected15papers. Weclusteredacceptedpapersintosessionsandtheauthors ofthesepaperschampionedthesessionsandtookaleadinthediscussions.
