A substantially annotated bibliography of books written by Japanese scholars in English from 1950 to 1995 and two dozen essays illuminate a field that has been flourishing for decades but is little known in the western world except for the few works published in the US or Europe. They generally consider Old and Middle English phonological, grammatical, semantic, and lexical issues, though some address broader topics both chronologically and thematically.
