Ephesians: Growing in Christ: A Bible Study Workbook - Five minutes a Day in the Word
Why a Bible Study workbook? Psalm 19:14 (KJV) says: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. The book of Joshua, chapter 8, verse 1 (KJV) says: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. I have participated in many Bible studies and have found that I spend more time making sure I try to keep up and stay on schedule than I do meditating on the Word itself. While I was praying about this in 2016, the Holy Spirit led me to the book of Hebrews and showed me how to lay this Bible study out into a six week study that would only require 5 to 10 minutes a day in the Word. This is the third workbook in the series with plans for others to be produced. Honestly, it felt wrong at first because I think we, as Christians, somehow think we have to drown ourselves in the Word to make it count. I asked God for further understanding of what I was doing and here was His answer: I want your mind and thoughts on me as you go throughout your day. If you have a few verses of my Word each day on your mind, it will seep into your heart. It will saturate your surroundings and you will see my Word at work in your life. Ephesians starts getting to the root of who Christ is and how the Church operates. It establishes what our role individually and collectively is in the Church and should stretch and grow us spiritually as we study.
