The ESL Reinforcement Activity Book is filled with innovative, fun and hands on activities to reinforce various English concepts for limited English Proficient learners. It addresses Basic Expressions, Self-Identification questions and answers as well as basic and advanced grammatical patterns and usages. The activities are designed to allow students to work independently, in groups or in pairs to reinforce the concepts. Activities can be modified to address the four language domains: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Usage and implementation of all activities are explained along with suggested activities. Students will enjoy using and enhancing their English proficiency with the assortment of fun activities provided in the ESL Reinforcement Activity Book.

About the Author
He has taught English as a Second Language to students and adults of all ages and backgrounds. As a Specialist, he tested new entrants to the district, created and shared innovative ESL strategies with colleagues as well as provide Professional Development.
His commitment to parents and community has brought him recognition throughout the district. He truly believes that parent involvement is a must when it comes to education. This belief encouraged him to create the slogan for the Bilingual Parent Council, Parents: The Voice That Makes the Difference. In 1993, he was the first and only male recipient to receive the Community Award for Teaching Excellence.
His first book, “The Pronoun Book”, was introduced to the public at the 2015 NJTESOL/BILINGUAL Conference held in New Brunswick, NJ and was met with great success.
Tommie has worked long and hard to bring new ideas to New Brunswick. Thanks to his dedication and efforts, the New Brunswick School district now sponsors an annual 5th Grade District Wide Spelling Bee. He began the Joan M. Bornheimer Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to a Bilingual/ESL senior at the end of the year. In addition, he is the founder of New Brunswick Academic Hall Of Fame which acknowledges academic excellence for students in grades 4-12.
Tommie comes from a musical family. He is also a singer and songwriter who has recorded several CD’s with his acappella singing group “The Sheps”. His group has performed in Radio City Music Hall, Atlantic City, Paper Mill, and at the NJPAC (New Jersey Performing Arts Center). His group has opened for icons such as Ms. Dionne Warwick and Bon Jovi. He recently released his first acappella CD as a single artist entitled: The Tommie Shider Me, Myself and I Collection in which he penned and performs all selections. He is currently performing with the legendary Willie Winfield and the Harptones, famous for the song: “Life Is But A Dream.”
