Overview

From the review in Clinical Chiropractic: "Dr. Michael Haneline, DC, MPH, has written a spectacular text tackling evidence-based practice and applying it directly to chiropractic....This text not only creates confidence in the reader after exploring a difficult and often frustrating topic, but it does so with ease. I recommend this text to both students and seasoned practitioners." ~ Robert Rodine Division of Graduate Education and Research Programs Canadian Memorial Chiropractic CollegeFrom the review in Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Assocation: "If not already shelved for utilization, Evidence-Based Chiropractic Practice is must-have for any practitioner’s reference library." ~ Cara L. Borggren, BS, DC Chiropractic Clinical Resident Northwestern Health Sciences University College of ChiropracticEvidence-based chiropractic (EBC) is a process of actively seeking support for and improvement of clinical practice through the integration of the best available research evidence, combined with the practitioner’s clinical expertise and the patient’s values. Research evidence does not supersede clinical decision making in EBC, rather it enhances the knowledge and skills of the practitioner to produce better patient care. Evidence-Based Chiropractic Practice offers valuable information to help healthcare practitioners and students care for their patients as effectively and efficiently as possible. This essential book informs readers about the procedures involved in the practice of evidence-based chiropractic care, and provides background information that is necessary for obtaining and interpreting chiropractic evidence, as well as practical examples to assist with implementation. The book also offers important information on understanding the content of research articles, including the basics of research design and biostatics—information that is vital to rendering optimal patient care.
