So why call this journey Faith Food Family? When this project was just a seed, it had a whole different path. I was going to simply write a cookbook, giving recipes links to the Runes, the Norse tools for divination; the language. I was going to create a deck of cards with recipes to go along with the book. The more I talked about this with my best friend and the owner of the small press publishing my work, the more I realized that I had way more recipes than runes. So then we talked about writing them all down and sorting them into magickal categories, and that sparked something. Next, we talked about how we bless food and how we make things magickal and then a light went on. I think there may have been lightning! I had to talk about my path; how I treat my home, my kitchen, my food, my family, and how my faith has changed and grown over the years. It was time to help others who see the love in food, even if they don't think they can 'do the magic', and show them: indeed they can make the magick happen!
