Overview

FECA provides cash benefits to eligible federal employees who suffer temporary or permanent disabilities resulting from work-related injuries or diseases. Labor's Division of Federal Employees' Compensation in the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) administers the FECA program and charges agencies for whom injured employees worked for benefits provided. These agencies subsequently reimburse Labor's Employees' Compensation Fund from their next annual appropriation.
