Finally, Dorothy: An Autobiographical Novel

Finally, Dorothy is a novel based on the story of Jody Kennedy, a sober, thirty-something, newly baptized Catholic who, after years of relationships going south and trying to escape her sometimes complicated past, makes a vow to stay single and leaves the Midwest, US, to live in a monastery in Paris, France, with the hopes of becoming a nun. But the trouble begins when Jody meets Daniel, a charismatic homeless man who loves to quote Shakespeare and spends his days drinking on the steps of a nearby church with his old dog, Éole. Jody believes she can save Daniel, but in the face of his unpredictable moods, she is quickly confronted with those parts of her past she had been trying to forget. In the end, it turns out that Jody just might be the one who needs saving.
