About the Author

Shelly Skinner BSW is a Senior Social Worker at Perth Children's Hospital and the Founder and CEO of Lionheart Camp for Kids. Shelly was the recipient of the 2020 John Curtin Medal for her leadership and community service in helping children deal with grief and she was acknowledged as one of the 2021 Westfield Local Heroes for her work establishing Lionheart. Shelly has co-authored articles exploring children's experience of grief and has always dreamed of authoring a children's book. Shelly lives in Perth, Western Australia with the loves of her life - her husband and 3 daughters.

Christian Barratt is Creative Director at Lionheart Camp for Kids and has worked with them since 2018 as a program facilitator, illustrator, and media creative. He has also created an online comic, received awards for his short films, and worked as a play therapist at Princess Margaret and Perth Children's Hospital for ten years. This is the fourth children's book Christian has illustrated, and the first he has co-written. Christian lives in Perth, Western Australia.
