Where I'm from is no fairytale. And the story I'm about to share with you is Everything but Fiction!

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world- he didn't exist.

I'm from a small town called College Station, located in Arkansas- but outside of Little Rock. There
are many families and churches that we were taught to protect and we did- at ALL cost!

My hood has love but some hate too. And like many neighborhoods, we also have our share of secrets.

I wrote my 1st poem when I was 6 years old. God said it was MY duty to finish the mission.
He said to make every word BURN like FIRE.
This is my story.

About the Author

Marcus T Kelley, also known as Hogg, is a native of College Station,
Arkansas, began journaling at an early age as means of coping
with the death, he had seen. Unbeknownst to him, the pain he scribed with his
pencil and notebook paper would morph into- Him becoming a household
name.

Marcus was gifted with a powerful, yet calm tone. Words, to him, were like
sprinkles of golden dust- giving life to what appeared to be a deadly situation.
He started writing at six years old. After being visited by so much tragedy,
writing would eventually become part of his DNA.

Marcus also, attributes writing to his love for rap music. Writing and Rap Music
provided a way of escape. So much, til later he developed a reputation for
entering talent shows and battling other rappers. As he got older, he got better!

Although, Marcus didn’t believe he was good at a lot of things, he read many books,
which would prove to be beneficial for the way he married his words.

Over the years Marcus received praise for his God-given talent, but what inspired him most were seeds of wisdom, generously shared with him. In addition to his mother, Netra King being instrumental, he was also moved by the works of Stephen King, Dr. Maya Angelo, W.E.B. Du Bois, Marianne Williamson, and his mentor, Tonya Stigall. Provocative quotes he’d captured in his rhetorical lens, left a lasting impression;

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure” ......
