Overview

Join the author through thirty years of flying a wide variety of aircraft, from the venerable Cessna 150 to the speedy Learjet and stately Falcon 20. Despite electrical system failures, jammed engine controls, strong crosswinds, icy runways, mountain flying, engine flameouts, and other exciting scenarios, he never had an accident or damaged an airplane! Is it possible to have a career in aviation after the age of 40? The book follows the author from his first flight when he was 44 years old through earning private pilot, instrument, multi-engine, commercial, and finally airline transport pilot ratings.

About the Author

Steve Woolstenhulme is the consummate entrepreneur. He often jokes, “I was fortunate to get a degree in French, so I would never be temped to get a job.” He grew up in rural Idaho, riding horses on the family ranch and operating heavy equipment for his father’s construction company. He has built companies in real estate, software, and aviation, at one point employing over 800 people. He and his wife, Carma, are the parents of five children and fifteen delightful grandchildren.
