I loved this book! If like me, you enjoy reading a great Scottish historical romance, one that you can’t put down until you’ve finished reading it entirely – try Forbidden Night with the Highlander by Michelle Willingham. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. A lovely tale of Lianna MacKinnon and Rhys de Laurent - betrothed since birth. She is a kind Scottish lass, he is a strong and sensual Normal Lord. Lianna doesn’t want to marry Rhys, a man she has never met. She is anxious that Rhys will not love or accept her (and her OCD tendencies). Rhys however has a plan – disguise himself before meeting Lianna for the first time. After their initial meeting (aka ‘sizzle time’), their story took off. I became so engrossed that I imagined I could see their adventures taking place. After a tiring day at work, there is nothing I enjoy more than reading books that can transport me to another place and time for a bit of romance. Michelle has a natural way of writing that enabled me to relate to this story and these characters and I enjoyed this book immensely. This is the second book in Michelle’s Warriors of the Night series, however I read it as a standalone, with no issues at all. My only concern now is that I have to read the first book in the series, Forbidden Night with the Warrior, because I need/must find out about Rhys’ brother Warrick and his love Rosamund. Please Note: I was given a free advance copy in return for my honest review (which is detailed above).
