When Jackson loses his own memory, Kate’s love is the only thing that can bring him back. But she’s falling for the man responsible for the evil in Romania. A man who claims to be her soul mate. Will this master of wraiths forever break Kate’s bond with Jackson?

Reviewers have described her work as early Gillian Flynn with a little Ray Bradbury and Stephen King thrown in for good measure.
She won Harlequin's search for "the next Gillian Flynn" in 2016. Her first published novella, The Bear Who Wouldn't Leave, was featured in Samhain's Childhood Fears collection and stayed on its horror bestsellers list for over a year.
When not writing, she loves exploring the world's most haunted places, advocating for animal rights, and summoning her inner ninja in muay thai class.

Plenty as it turns out. Forest of Ghosts is J.H. Moncreiff's fourth in her GhostWriters series featuring on-off lovers and colleagues Jackson and Kate. Their battles with the supernatural have taken them on a global trek and brought them into great danger. This time is no exception. Once again, the author has done her homework by personally visiting a pretty scary location - a forest in the heart of Romania where strange things can and do happen. While she was there she reportedly had some pretty strange experiences herself. Her characters are in for a lot more though. I loved the way the story unfolded. Jackson is coming to terms with his new psychic powers and has to deal with things initially single-handed. The seemingly pleasant owner of the inn who Jackson takes an instant dislike to, and the disappearance of one of the writers on the retreat are only the beginning. It's not long before he is calling on Kate for help. But they are currently estranged... The story packs pace and sinister atmosphere along with great plot and characters. As for that forest... I'm still getting shivers now. Can be read as a standalone for anyone coming late to this series. Apparently there's a fifth installment coming out in the early summer. Can't wait!
