Maddox Hines walked away from the things he took comfort in, sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Things that helped dull the pains from his past and allowed him to continue waking up each day and push forward. He set out to win back the love of the girl who held his heart for five years. A girl who he knew was too good for him, deserved better than him, but it no longer mattered.
Maddox set out to win her back. When he found her a life changing secret was revealed. One he felt was a blessing not a curse.
Harper Abrahams fear of disappointing her family came to fruition and Maddox was her rock. When their family left to return to their homes Maddox stayed behind believing things were going as planned and determined to earn her trust back.
Harper pushes him away to guard her heart from what only he was capable of doing to it. Harper loves Maddox but can no longer trust him, there was too much to loose. Pushing him away she hangs onto Blake her friend, confidant, and the man who she knows would be perfect for her. He had never let her down, and she knew he never would.
Maddox holds strong in his fight, he won't lose her again. His persistence pays off but will it get them through what lies ahead. Will the sins of his past annihilate his dreams for his future with Harper? Will he be strong enough for her when she needs him the most?

About the Author

MJ Fields had no clue what she was getting into when she began the journey of writing. She says, "I still don't--but I like it!"
Her imagination became apparent at age three. Sigma was her very first (imaginary) boyfriend. He lived about fifteen miles from her family's farm. She took him chicken noodle soup every night on one of their snowmobiles.(Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring). Apparently he was very ill and "Thank God" she was able to take care of him.
At eight her love for writing blossomed. Together with her cousins (of course she was the president) they wrote a newsletter and sold it to their family members.
Years later she decided to put it back into print to entertain her cousin as she was on an aircraft carrier on 9/11, very far away from home during a scary time for our country.
Fast forward to 2012. She read 50 Shades and thought, 'I wanna do that!' (meaning writing).
She has two complete series, The Love Series and Wrapped. There are also two new series Burning Souls and Men of Steel that are as of now not complete. Thirteen books in sixteen months. CrAzY and wonderful.
She loves love!
Her Mom raised her right. She says please and thank you and means it.
Her mother taught her to take care of herself and others. 'I don't like leaving the house without mascara even if I'm in an oversized hoody and warm up pants.'
Her Dad taught her how to work hard and never expect to be handed anything. She likes to work and doesn't mind getting dirty.
Both taught her to be respectful and the importance of doing the right thing regardless of what people around her do. They taught her about the importance of family and that it didn't always just include blood relatives. They also tried to teach her how to keep my thoughts to myself...she is still working on that.
MJ tends to enjoy watching people grow and change with self realization and moments of clarity that just sneak up behind you and smack you in the head.
She loves people and has always been able to see both sides of a story. 'Each person that comes into our life leaves us with something it is what we choose to do with it that helps us grow.'
She lives in central New York in the middle of nowhere and is surrounded by family and friend most the time. She spends time writing and doing the typical Mommy things. Her house is full of pets, friends, and noise ninety percent of the time, and she would have it no other way.

I will never think of the rabbit again lol I love the humor in this. I really wish I could read one book without having a melt down but I guess thats what good stories do. Hate that Collin is gone and another baby gone. I really think Ava needs a book just saying she is funny love her spunk just like Tessa

Maddox is both HOT and yummy! He showed his strong alpha male self in this book. He took right after his dad Brody from the Wrapped series! Harper and Maddox showed each other how to love and the humor was great too! Their love scenes were tastefully and beautifully written! MJ Fields did it again and I can't wait for the 3rd book of Maddox to come out!! Thanks so much to the author!

WOW! First off a HUGE thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC copy of this book to review for the blog tour :) You ROCK! What Harper & Maddox have been through, would certainly rock some relationships, even tear them apart. This book is all about making that connection between soul mates stronger, not letting anything, ANYTHING, get in the way of their happily ever after. As you can imagine after everything that happened in "Stained" Harper is keeping her distance, keeping her shield up and not letting anyone in. I admit what she did/didn't do to Maddox was wrong on her part, but she had her reasons and they were legitimate, I mean seriously, SEX ON LEGS, get your fricking act together, or you will lose the only love of YOUR LIFE. Anyway now that's out of my system, you will be pre-warned that this will take you on an emotional rollercoaster, and take you to depths of heartache you may not have been before. This is total devastation, but as a family, friends, a whole, stumble through the ruins and reunite, with long forgotten loved ones. I do hope there is a 3rd as I do want Maddox & Harper to have their happily ever after, they deserve soo much more :)
