Q & A with the Author

For readers new to the Liberty Series, please give us some background.

The Liberty Series are clean romance kindle books that blend humorous moments with scenes that'll bring a tear to your eye. I think of the books as relationship novels centered on inspiring stories about the extraordinary events in ordinary lives.

The stories take place in a fictional small town that celebrates family life and old-fashioned values. Each book is a stand-alone novel: I don't leave readers with frustrating cliffhangers!

What will readers discover in Four Wishes, the fourth book in the series?

In some ways, Four Wishes is a coming of age novel for a character new to the series, Glade Wilson. Glade is searching for a second chance at putting her life on the right track-she's dealing with a teenage pregnancy when she first arrives on Meade William's doorstep.

Meade is the sister of the main character in Treasure Me, the first book in the series. Meade is wealthy, successful and approaching middle age with the sense that all the outward trappings of a good life aren't enough. Secretly she'd like to find love but, like many mature adults, she's become the caretaker for an ailing parent. Her father Landon suffers from depression and grief stemming from mistakes made earlier in his life. Their relationship provides many of the novel's more poignant moments.

Dr. Mary Chance also plays a major role in Four Wishes. Do you think her reappearance will surprise readers?

I certainly hope so! In Second Chance Grill, Mary is the doctor that finds love with Liberty's single father, Anthony Perini. In Four Wishes, her story revolves around the parenting-career decisions the newly married couple now faces. As Liberty's only doctor, Mary isn't sure the time is right to have a baby. She's happy parenting Blossom, Anthony's precocious daughter-but Blossom is on a mission to become the big sister of a new bundle of joy. The subplot, "Should Mary have a baby?" provides Four Wishes with touches of comedy and a bittersweet look at family life.

What role does Birdie play in Four Wishes?

Readers will see her relationship with Meade develop in unexpected ways. The two sisters couldn't be more dissimilar, but their mutual love for their father will bring them closer together.

If you are looking to make new friends and visit a great little town, head on over to Liberty, OH. The characters will pull you in right from the start and you will feel right at home. This is book #4 of the Liberty series and each book stands alone, but I would say if you have the chance, read them all. It's fun to watch the characters growth and meet the newbies that come to town. Fours Wishes has everything it takes to make a story that you won't soon forget. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Four Wishes by Christine Nolfi c.2014 Meade Williams is 40 years old.  She is the owner of a multi-million dollar company, who has spent her life taking care of and trying to please her retired banker father Landon Williams.  Now she finds herself facing more changes than she is able to handle in her usual manner - just toughing it through. The half-sister she has only known about for a year is getting married and the best man for the wedding rubs her the wrong way. Still she must work with him.  Her sister has no idea how to pull of the kind of wedding expected from one of the town’s prominent families.  To top it off she finds out just before the wedding that her sister is pregnant and several people have been made known about it before she was. Life is rife with changes, and Meade must deal with them. How does a person who feels she must be in control of all the aspects of her life and the lives of those around her cope when she realizes that she is not in control?    Watch as Meade learns to be flexible and finds that she actually can enjoy life without being in control.  It isn’t an easy trip, but Meade makes the ride successfully. I enjoyed this contemporary romance.  It’s a very nice read.   I received this book from the author through Choosy Bookworm for my unbiased review.

What an amazing story! My first book by this author. Now I need to go back and read the other books in the series. Never a dull moment in the book. The characters all seem to come to life and it makes you feel like you are in the town of Liberty. Make sure you have tissues handy because you will need them. I loved the ending and how it all comes together. Looking forward to reading mor from this author.

Meade Williams' life is changing quickly. She just found out she has a step sister who is getting married.  Meade also found out her father's health is getting worse.  All this while she's running a vastly successful cosmetics company.  Meade just wants life to go back to normal. About the time of the wedding, Meade finds a man she thinks she wants to spend her life with. What else can happen in the short time of the wedding?       This book is written well and has relatable characters.  Ms Nolfi always does a fantastic job on her books.  I found this one a bit bland though. I couldn't connect the title with the story though.  It was as though it was picked out of a hat at the last minute.  The story is a beautiful one though.      I found issues.  It lacked excitement and connectivity.  The characters were relatable however they didn't seem to have any way of working together.      I gave this one 3 cheers out of 5 because it was a nice story that went nowhere.   ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

The Liberty series is a particular favorite of mine. I get excited when I know there is a new book in the series being released. When I had the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this forth book, I jumped all over it. I am so pleased to say that I absolutely loved it.  The books in this series are all written as stand-alone stories and have unique plots with definite endings. They can be read and enjoyed in any order. I have had the pleasure to read the books in the order they were released. As such, I have gotten to know and love the characters and their stories. I was very happy to be able to get to know Meade so much better in this book. I will admit that, in the past books, I had a hard time understanding her and didn’t like her much. She really surprised me and I really grew quite fond of her. I really enjoyed the dynamic between her and Hector and loved watching the relationship between Meade and Birdie evolve. This book really pulled at my heartstrings and I have no problem recommending it. There were occasions to celebrate as well as those to grieve. There were old friends as well as new. It is a characteristically quality read written by a gifted storyteller.

Christine Nolfi’s “Four Wishes” is rich and superbly crafted, bringing the reader into a small, Midwestern town, peppered with people everybody will recognize. This is the fourth in her Liberty Series, with characters, plot twists and turns of phrase that delighted me throughout. “Four Wishes” introduces new characters who are just as wonderful in their own ways as the rest of the gang. What resonated most with me is that these are good, happy people who know how to live. These people are worthwhile people in that even when unhappy things happen to them, they actually act like kinda normal, well-adjusted people. Their joys and sadnesses find them reacting believably to the opening and closing of doors that come when they least expect them. I am rooting for them all the way, laughing and crying—sometimes gasping—right along with them. If this is the first book you read in the series, I assure you Nolfi has written enough gentle background on previously-introduced characters to where you won't wonder what’s going on with who (or is it “whom”). It can stand alone, as do the others in this series. The characters feel like family and I can’t help but want more of the residents of Liberty, Ohio, each time I finish a book. I actually have to sit quietly for a while to bring myself back out of Liberty!
