Donald Olson is a travel writer, novelist and playwright. His travel stories have appeared in The New York Times , National Geographic , and other national publications. He has written several travel guides for Frommer’s, including Easy Guide to Germany , Germany Day by Day , Berlin Day by Day , Germany for Dummies , Best Day Trips from London , England For Dummi es, London for Dummies , Vancouver & Victoria , and Portland Day by Day.
His three most recent novels, published under the pen name Swan Adamson, have been translated into French and Russian. His book The Pacific Northwest Garden Tour—The 60 Best Gardens to Visit in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia (Timber Press) was named by Library Journal as one of the best reference books of 2014. His now book, The California Garden Tour—The 50 Best Gardens to Visit in California , will be published by Timber Press in 2017. Donald lives, writes and gardens in Manhattan and Portland, OR.
