Fuel for Fire is the 10th book in the BKI series. It's the story of Dagan, BKI operator and Chelsea, Agent with the CIA, who have been circling one another for years. They have teamed up together in London to get proof of Spider's illegal activities and his real identity. We also get to read the humorous dialogue between Christian and Emily. Their story is up next I believe... As with all of Julie Ann Walker's books; the action is fast paced, the chemistry is off the charts, and the characters are even better than we suspected. This series just keeps going and drawing us in. It's magnetic! I know the ending to this series will be coming soon and I hope it's as grand as this series has been for me!!!

***3 Stars*** As much as I was looking forward to finally getting the 411 on Dagan and seeing him and Chelsea finally come together, this book just didn’t really do it for me. I simply liked it. There were some great scenes peppered throughout the book and I liked where the whole Spider storyline was at in the end, but there were also a few little things that just didn’t work for me and in the end I just never got fully invested in the journey like I wanted to. Despite my tepid feelings, I did like Dagan and Chelsea. I liked getting inside Dagan’s head and learning about the events in his past that led him to BKI. He’s all kinds of protective alpha male, who tends to put his foot in his mouth, but means well in the end. Chelsea was one tough cookie. She was put through the ringer and came out stronger for it. I loved her sass and her loyalty to her family. Their journey to their HEA was filled with quite a few bumps in the road and the angsty-ness was kicked up a notch as they dealt with their feelings towards the other, what they thought they wanted for their futures and that big ‘ole secret Chelsea had in regards to Dagan. That secret and it’s unveiling was a big one, but I understood both sides reactions and liked how things worked out for them in the end. I really wanted to love this one, but it just didn’t turn out that way. I still loved the bantering between the characters, Ace I absolutely adored, but one of my ‘issues’ was the use of slang and homegrown sayings throughout the book. I honestly felt like it was too much. I totally understand how those little details can give depth to a character and give the reader a good feel for who they are and where they came from, but after awhile it was just a bit too much for me. I’m hoping this was just one of those “It’s not you, it’s me” things and that Hot Pursuit, Christian and Emily’s book, will do for me what this one didn’t. ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

This is book #10 in the Black Knights Inc. series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To really appreciate the goodness that is BKI, I think the reader should read this series in order. Dagan AKA "Z" is both a co-worker and frenemy with Chelsea. They have worked together in more than one company, and trust is important in their line of work. If only he can turn off the dreams he has about her. Chelsea has been in love with Z for years. He has never known the part she has played in his past, either. Keeping secrets has gotten her no where. Maybe it is time to tell? Under the BKI blanket, we always get a hot story, with a side of burnin' love. This one takes you over to the other side of the pond. With sexy accents, secrets, and a mystery to solve - this story unfolds quickly and satisfies with an HEA.

I have been enjoying the BKI series for a couple of years now. JAW writes these stories with lots of action, a bit of humor, and plenty of passion. Oh, and heart. She really makes the reader care about this "family" of operatives. While I liked Fuel for Fire, it was not my favorite BKI book. For whatever reason, I just didn't connect with Chelsea or Dagan as well as I would have liked. As always though, I enjoyed the humor and the interaction of the operatives. Very fun! Three-and-a-half stars.

In a mixed of explosive and intense action, as the protagonist try to fulfill their mission and then escape for their lives, there is a beautiful story of the all-conquering love that comes with forgiveness and loyalty. If you are not familiar with the Black Knights Inc series and Julie Ann Walker's writing, this would be a great place to get acquainted with them, since the book is completely stand alone and the references to the past BKI books, stories, and even characters are minuscule. Dagan Zoelner is a mighty hero, that was so easy to like and connect with. He has the past he regrets, mistakes he has made that are still hunting him. He is loyal to his family, he carries his responsibility, he has kindness, even sweetness inside of him that left me breathless, as he shares his dreams and hopes with Chelsea. Chelsea Duvall is a sassy lady, who can hold her own. Her love for her parents, her dedication to her family, her willingness to do anything for them is obvious. She carries a secret that if exposed could end her career as well as her budding relationship with Dagan. The man she has secretly loved for years who is finally giving her a chance. I liked Chelsea and Dagan together. The fact that they have known each other for years, and have been lusting for each other, made the eruptive, huge leaps their relationship moved forward believable and sound. The need to express their feelings to each other was palpable, the want to get to know each other in all the possible way tangible, the passion between them swoon-worthy, for sure! It was steamy, all-consuming, and oh, so hot! But it was also heartbreakingly fragile, and honesty and trust were stretched to their limits as their muddle through the deep waters of their past mistakes while working for the CIA. The action is constant, vicious, and deadly. The suspense and fear for life ceaseless. The criminal case is left partly open, hoping to get more insight to it in the future installment of the BKI series. And I do hope the series continues, even if the hints of it winding down or changing in form were plentiful in the mixed of the tale. Emily and Christian are still bantering and fighting at every chance they got, and even Ace, another member of BKI, gets a man to flirt with. Hazardous action and frenzied romance, the kind where there is no place to hide, and your only choice are to fight for your life and your future happiness with all you have, fill the pages of this intense, fiery and entertaining romantic suspense story. ~ Four Spoons with the teaspoon on the side

There are several books in Julie Ann Walker’s series about a clandestine government agency that reports to the President of the United States. They use a motorcycle shop as a cover and go by the name Black Knights Inc. The operatives are all very different and seem to come from some rather intriguing walks of life. One of the hallmarks of these books, is that the relationships form in the middle of life-threatening situations. This time, we find out what happens when former CIA agent Dagan Zoelner finally confesses his feelings for CIA agent Chelsea Duvall during an undercover operation in London. Dagan and Chelsea have been working together for years and have secretly been attracted to each other although neither one had a clue. They have always fought like kids on the playground so their attraction was obvious to other members of BKI. Complications surrounding this most recent op force the two of them into close quarters and the combustion intensifies to uncontrollable levels. Of course, they can’t deny their passion but Chelsea is keeping a secret that has affected Dagan’s life for years. Everything that happens to them will show that they are meant to be together no matter how much it may seem that the odds are against them. Dagan and Chelsea have some great banter between them. It’s no wonder that everyone else knows how they feel about each other. Dagan plays the role of brooding protector very well. And Chelsea refuses to play the shrinking violet. She’s a southern gal and her mother didn’t raise a push over. Nonetheless, Chelsea is not a trained killer like Dagan so he doesn’t hesitate to take their assailants out when they threaten Chelsea’s life. As they work together and through their issues, it’s impossible not to root for their happily ever after. They are really great together when they are working as a team. However, it’s kinda fun when they are at odds too. In addition, the other members of the team are just as snarky and quick witted. They all pick on each other but have each other’s backs as well. Julie Ann Walker continues to create a fun world despite the fact that it’s full of guns, violence, and espionage. I am always looking forward to reading the next book. **Received a copy of the book from the publisher and reviewed voluntarily.**

I was given an early copy of Fuel for Fire by the author for a fair review... Ms. Walker is one of the hottest leading Military Romance authors we all "Adore"! Fuel for Fire is the latest installment in the Black Knight, Inc (BKI) series. In Fuel for Fire we finally get Dagan "Z" Zoelner and Chelsea Duvall's story. If you read any of the BKI books, you should remember "Z" in Hell on Wheels where we meet Dagan Zoelner, an ex-CIA working for a corrupted Senator and Chelsea Duvall is the CIA's Liaison for the BKI members. Now, Z and Chelsea are thrust together in search for an enemy that the CIA wants. The only lead Z, Chelsea and 5 other members of the BKI team have to go on, is a guy name Roper Morrison. They believe he is this well known Criminal name "Spider". It's up to Chelsea to plant a virus in Mr. Morrison's computer but she was caught before she was able to get back to the team. When Dagan Zoelner and 2 members of the BKI go in and rescue's Chelsea from the enemy but now they are on the run from international police and Spider's men... Will they be able to find the evidence in time? Find out in Ms. Walker's newest novel FUEL FOR FIRE! Christina

I've had this series on my TBR for a while now--I loved Ms. Walker's Deep Six series--and was beyond excited when I got a chance to read Fuel for Fire! I am happy to report that it definitely did not disappoint, and that even though this one's pretty far into the series (#10! Whoa :)) I had no problem jumping right into the action with this one. There is previously-known bad guy at play here, but you are given enough information to understand the seriousness of the situation without going into info dump territory. (And can I just say--that antagonist?--gives me chills.) Chelsea and Dagan grabbed me from the very first page--I absolutely loved their back and forth when they were at odds...and their explosive chemistry when they weren't as well. The danger they find themselves in, combined with the camaraderie they share with their fellow teammates and the others they bring in to help them get out of their current situation, make this one heck of a fun read. The story ends a bit in the air as far as Black Knights, Inc. are concerned--the president who commissioned them is leaving office, and his predecessor doesn't have any interest in keeping them around--but I sincerely that Ms. Walker has plans for them anyway, because there's at least two couples here who really, really deserve their own books ;) Oh yeah, and a bad guy who may still be at large... At least I've got a nine-book backlist to keep me busy while I wait! Rating: 4 stars / A- I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Loved it!!! Having read the series from book 1 I've known for some time that Dagan & Chelsea had one hell of a story to tell on their way to HEA! I have been anxiously waiting for their story to be told and I was so happy to finally get their book that once I started it I could hardly bring myself to put it down even for sleep but it was so very worth it!!! I was provided an ARC of Fuel For Fire for my honest review.

Dagan Zoelner and Chelsea Duvall have been banging against each other for years. Hostile toward each other for reasons we have never really been privy to until now. Small bits and pieces of their histories have been given to us in small doses in previous books. The sexual tension off the charts. Finally Chelsea has her big moment in the field on her own. It all seems to going really well until it just isn't. Dagan to the rescue though with the help from a few other BKI's and they are on the run. Lives in the balance Dagan finally tells Chelsea how he feels. Chelsea is forced to tell a secret that will devastate Dagan. Besides a banging great story with the main characters Julie Ann Walker writes beautiful secondary characters as well. You're not just entertained by the main love interests but dazzled by her secondaries as well. She sets up future books in bits and pieces. Just enough to make you get excited by what's to come. Dagan and Chelsea are these wonderful people who blame themselves for things they weren't guilty of. The sizzle between these two was off the charts. There was something about Dagan when he first appeared in this series that got to me. I was so happy to finally see him get his happy ending. He more than deserved it.

So Good! As with any lengthy series I worry about continuity and the originality of storylines. The author alleviated those worries by delivering a fresh adventurous tale. I very much enjoyed the 'grade school' teasing and the crazy-desperate situations these two find themselves in. There are still so many remarkable characters that need their story told - Hot Pursuit is up next. Cannot wait to read about Ace finding love!!!

After years of dancing around their mutual attraction to each other, things finally come to a head when ex-CIA agent and current BKI operative Dagan Zoelner has to protect Chelsea Duvall, CIA agent on loan to BKI, as she goes undercover in England on a mission to get information about an infamous criminal codenamed Spider. Things get intense when the mission goes off the rails after Chelsea is discovered planting a virus in the laptop of the man believed to be Spider so that information can be obtained to help build a case against him. After she is extracted from that dangerous situation by 3 BKI operatives (Dagan, Christian, and Ace), they find they must go on the run (including BKI's office manager Emily) in order to escape England and get Chelsea to safety. As the action and danger intensifies, Dagan and Chelsea realize they can no longer resist the attraction they feel for each other and finally open up to each other mind, body, and soul. Although they finally admit they have feelings for each other, Chelsea is burdened by the fact that she feels she was the reason Dagan lost his position with the CIA and fears that if she tells him the truth she will lose him forever. This was a great edge-of-your-seat story that kept this reader interested from the get-go. I do have to say that the ending was somewhat anticlimactic but I was glad to see Dagan and Chelsea's story unfold and come to a satisfying conclusion as Dagan has been an important character throughout the whole BKI series. As Dagan said "love conquers all". Now on to Christian and Emily's story before they spontaneously combust from unrequited lust! I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review and I also purchased the book.

I loved this book. I have been waiting for Dagan Zoelner's story ever since the very first book (Hell on Wheels) and I was definitely not disappointed. I enjoyed getting to know Dagan and Chelsea better, as well as Christian, Ace, and Emily. I appreciated that the story stuck to the main scenario and didn't try to mix too many themes in all at once. Overall I would definitely recommend this book to friends!

Was disappointed....did not seem up to the usual standards. Did not have the substance the previous books in series had. Just surface and rushed.

Holy Mary Mother of...this book began with a bang and only got better and better!!! Dagan and Chelsea have been dancing around each other for most of this series, so it was no surprise the had combustible chemistry. The “big” secret that threatened to keep them apart was so painful to see unravel...but love conquers all...so says Dagan. The set up for Christian’s and Emily’s story continued in this book, as well. I’m surprised Ms. Walker hasn’t had them colliding into bed together yet with the way they go at it! Of course, then what would be the point of Book 11?! This book also gave us a small glimpse of Angel (a former Mossad agent) and Ace (a former Navy flyboy). While I still miss the old guard of Black Knights Inc., I am loving the fresh faces being introduced. I’m also curious about the future of this clandestine family. I received an advanced copy from Netgalley for an honest opinion of the book.

Less than twenty-four hours. That's all it took for me to read this. Literally, could not put it down. In typical Julie Ann fashion, she's created a world so believable, characters that are so lovable and REAL, that once the book is over, you just want to pick it up again. This series is by far one of the best ones I've read. I look forward to each release, and Fuel for Fire was no different. There's a ton of action, lots of drama, and of course, the book wouldn't have been complete without the romance. What I love about this particular story, though, is angst that was added. I've always been a big fan of it, and the angst in this story keeps its grip on you until the very end. All in all, five huge stars for Julia Ann's latest release!

This is only the 3rd ✩ FIVE-STAR REVIEW ✩ HEC has given in 2017! > > Judging a Book by it's Cover > Looking Deeper Third-person. Setting: UK and US When I need a Romantic Suspense fix, Julie Ann Walker is my drug of choice and her books are my crack. They are intense and insanely addictive and they're guaranteed to provide a wicked book hangover! Finally, the chemistry between Z and Duvall comes to fruition in yet another adrenaline-fueled, amazing thrill ride! It's funny, though, because I almost want to categorize this as a menage with the way "the Beard" was given its own entity! He's strong and a bit bull-headed. She's smart and a lot sassy. Together they are a ton of fun to read. Secondary characters mostly consist of Emily and Christian (I'm sure I'm not the only one dying in anticipation to see their story unfold) and newer member Ace. A few new faces in the mix of minor secondaries, too. The dialogue and interaction never disappoint. The plot was dynamic and exciting. The flow was fluid and perfectly paced. There were a few hurdles to overcome, which were met and resolved in mature and timely manners. The predictability was low. The conclusion provides an implied HEA, but nothing truly solid. The overall story line (Spider) appears as if it will continue in the next installment, which I eagerly shall await! Although each book features a new couple, the secondary characters are parts of a larger and longer plot that began in book one, therefore, for maximum enjoyment, I'd suggest reading this series from the beginning. You won't be disappointed. . Fuel for Fire, the latest in Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knights, Inc. series, is the long awaited story of Dagan and Chelsea. The CIA agents have been circling around each other for years. A hallmark of Walker’s writing, this novel is filled with sexy banter, lots of action, and a plausible storyline. The majority of the novel takes place in London, so there aren’t many glimpses of the full BKI crew. However, we do get to see more of Christian and Emily, in preparation for their story later this year. I did have a minute of déjà vu at the end when it seemed as if Becky had the same conversation with Dagan as she did with Ozzie at the end of his book. As always, I love Walker’s books and overall this one didn’t disappoint. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

The first introduction to Z and Chelsea came quite a few books ago, and I was happy to see they were finally getting their turn in the spotlight. Z and Chelsea have a history, and Chelsea is harboring a Big Bad Secret about Z's separation from the CIA that she just can't bring herself to tell him, especially since he is an expert at being a jerk to her. Nothing she does is ever right, and now that she is the field undercover trying to secure intelligence on the bad guy Spider who has been the central villian to the most recent few books, it is worse than ever. Chelsea doesn't hesitate to give him a healthy dose of snark but a little piece of her withers every time he levels a cutting remark at her. Z thinks he is protecting her in his own way, but teammate Emily sets him straight about his unacceptable caveman ways and tells him to pull his head out of the appropriate cavity in no uncertain terms. When Chelsea's mission goes sideways, he has no choice but to kick into his default kickass operator mode to get her out of danger but he does it with a bit more thought than usual. Fuel for Fire had more than its fair share of frustration and UST but when it finally reached the boiling point, the chemistry was explosive and Z showed exactly how much of an alpha caveman he has inside him at times. Some of his commentary had me wondering occasionally if he had a bit of Spock or Sheldon (from Big Bang Theory) in him too which was just a weird dichotomy for me. Chelsea's inner monologue infused with the author's signature sass had me chuckling though. The revelation of The Secret loomed and the question of how Z would handle it was a source of constant stress for Chelsea until she was finally able to get it off her chest. Z's response was expected even if it was less than idyllic, but he redeemed himself in the end. I thought these two defined the art of sniping at each other, but as the story went on I realized that award goes to Christian and Emily who just love to push each other's buttons. That is going to be one heckuva story and I am certainly looking forward to seeing that pairing work itself out! A few other lesser known members of the team played a big part in Fuel for Fire, and we were given a great mix of familiar faces along with fresh ones who piqued my interest for the future even as BKI's reason for existence is in flux after the election of a new POTUS. All in all, this was a great read!

Chelsea Duvall is carrying a secret long withheld from Dagan "Z" Zoelner regarding his firing from the CIA six years ago. Chelsea's job is to use a jump drive so the Black Knights can find mystery man causing havoc in the sandbox. All Chelsea has to do is get thru her task yet that's when things go seriously wrong. Now it's up to Black Knights to rescue Chelsea. When Chelsea's emergency alert goes off Dagan is on high alert. Dagan only wants to protect Chelsea at all costs no matter what. Dagan has strong feelings for Chelsea but hasn't acted on them because he feels that he doesn't have anything to offer her. Can Chelsea be rescued? Will either Dagan or Chelsea admit their feelings? Your answers await you in Fuel for Fire. Black Knights Inc., has been my favorite series from the very first book. I love the characters and their stories! This military series keeps you guessing from first to last page. The characters and story are unique, rich, bold, mysterious, compelling, complex, honest, raw, real, smokin' hot, flawed, and down to earth. I'm thrilled with this series and author. I look forward to my next adventure with this author until then Happy Reading! I voluntarily read this ARC for an honest and the opinions are my own.
