About the Author

Addie Briggs, MD is board certified in pediatrics. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Howard Universityand went on to earn her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth UniversitySchool of Medicine (formerly Medical College of Virginia). She then completed her primary care pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In 2001, Addie started East End Pediatrics, following her passion to serve the needs of her hometown community in Richmond, Virginia and her goal to encourage kids to follow their dreams and strive for excellence.  


Kim Evans, Ed.D. is a career educator and served in various capacities including teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and most recently, superintendent, prior to retirement. As a superintendent, she was responsible for the allocation of all resources to ensure a quality education for the students in Greensville and Emporia. Kim worked closely with the Executive Leadership Team and building principals to provide a safe environment for teachers and students and to improve the engagement of students in their own learning and to improve the academic achievement of all students.
