Galaxy Goodfellow
Galaxy Goodfellow comes from old money. His great-grandfather founded Mansaville, South Carolina, a small town divided by a haunted river containing the skeletons of Confederate soldiers from the Civil War. The devil, also known as Old Scratch, controls the army of skeletons, and every month Mansaville has a Confederate storm, raining blood on the entire town. Galaxy is a young gay black man who has a secret gift; blue fire comes out of his body. As if that weren't enough, he struggles with rumors about his sexual orientation-and the fact that his mother caught him having sex with the devil himself. Out of embarrassment, he leaves home and goes to the working-class side of town to move in with his ex-boyfriend, Barkley. When the two men finally come out of the closet, they show up at Liberty Baptist Church, led by the Reverend Johnny Whitaker-who is deceitful and is deathly tired of presiding over the congregation, eventually causing a confrontation with Old Scratch. And the violent aftermath of this encounter will affect everyone in Mansaville. Galaxy Goodfellow is a Southern Gothic family saga boasting a cast of intriguing characters and is full of narratives that will immerse you in a world where strange things happen...
