About the Author

Based on real events, the characters in this novel, including well known sports and Olympic heroes, are fictional, including the participants of the 4x100 meter Olympic team, those who ran for the American squad, in Berlin, August, 1936, or those whom did not compete because they were Jewish. This novel is based on two previously published novels: Ghost Runners, an Olympic Dream Betrayed and The White Bridge. Expanded and re-imagined in this edition to include the seeds of American race hatred
in the twentieth century which may be argued to be a prelude to the holocaust and the events portrayed herein. Over a span of forty years, Ghost Runners has been a staple in our household. For a time, it gathered dust until my son resurrected it from the closet one day and urged me to complete it. But history, as people, change each day, and so has Ghost Runners. I am honored that this edition has been gifted to The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Library.
