Overview

This collection of 33 poems about life and death speak to those painful spaces that echo between our shared experience of love and loss. Each poem offers an honest and heartfelt reflection on grief and loneliness based, in part, on the writings of J. Krishnamurti.

"When death comes, it does not ask your permission; it comes and takes you; it destroys you on the spot. In the same way, can you totally drop hate, envy, pride of possession, attachment to beliefs, to opinions, to ideas, to a particular way of thinking? Can you drop all that in an instant?"
~ J. Krishnamurti

From 1995 to 1998 he lived and worked with the Montfort Missionaries, a Roman Catholic religious community, in St. Louis, MO and Queens, NY. And back in high school he spent two summers (in '83 and '84) working at St Joseph's Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA.
