About the Author

Stephen J. Egged

Black Belt Hall of Fame martial artist Grand Master Soke Stephen J. Egged is founder of Ginryu Jujitsu holds black belts in Aikido, Iaido, Kenjitsu, several forms of Ju Jitsu and is the only person to win back to back Master of the year awards from the EUSAIMAA. A disabled veteran with multiple sclerosis and retired Senior Federal Investigator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

His writing career began when he created, wrote and drew the DCB King comic strip for the Detroit College of Business news paper the Falcon. He has written articles for many martial arts and comic book industry periodicals including Black Belt Magazine. In 1994 he created, wrote and published his break out award winning comic book series Gin-Ryu. He left the comic book industry in 1997, the stress of writing the book and working a full time job was making his multiple sclerosis unmanageable. After a debilitating attack in 2007 he took a disability retirement from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission attempting to slow the progression of his neurological disease. His return to writing came in 2012 with the release of his critically acclaimed graphic novel Gin-Ryu Vigilant Effort. He is continuing the Gin-Ryu line of books with Gin-Ryu Things Considered and Gin-Ryu Tortured Fate.
