Going Home: Death . . . and Eden, After

The now of me is all you need to know and will be evident in all that follows. The particulars of my story are profiled elsewhere. (see...) I am a seeker and am grateful for being so, My journey, I hope, underlines my belief that tells me "God writes straight with crooked lines.," that faith is the heartbeat of a meaningful life, and that prodigal in me is going home. Once a priest (always, they say), I have encountered a deeper spirituality in a wider, more personally free world. I used to preach about "the glory of God being a person fully alive," and finally heard those words myself. Since then, my journey has been one of seeking constantly the fullness of life which, I believe, awaits beyond this time and place.

Charles A. Wilkinson has spent his life focused on others, early on a priest, later as a marriage and family therapist, then, for more than twenty years, as a columnist for the Evanston RoundTable in Evanston, Illinois. Married, the father of three and grandfather of four, he is the author of The Dumb Thumb, Liam the Leprechaun, Speaking of...Communication, and Contemplations In the Sometimes Quiet of a Hospital Room. For many years he and his wife, a University professor, lectures and gave weekend workshops in Family Communication.
