British drum-and-bass DJ Goldie, instantly recognizable by his trademark gold teeth, transcended his dance music origins to become a media darling in his homeland. (His visibility only increased after his participation in both the James Bond movie THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH and the U.K. version of BIG BROTHER.) Such fame shouldn't overshadow his mixing talent, though, which is amply displayed on this collection of high-octane drum-and-bass tracks. Featuring a bonus CD of Goldie's own studio mixes, as well as a remix of his own "Say You Love Me," MDZ05 is a compelling sampler of high-quality drum-and-bass.
