This is a simple story: me boating -- or attempting to boat -- along the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. For most people, it is a once in a lifetime adventure. For me, it was a series of journeys, each remarkable in its own way. I have rafted through the Grand Canyon twelve times, including ten solos. All of my trips have been in cold weather months. Each was challenging, and a couple were especially so. Readers should come away with a good appreciation of the joys and adventures involved in multi-week solo whitewater rafting trips.
