Overview

Based on my own experiences with abuse and neglect, I have written Growing Up Without Love as an avenue to help those who are going down the same road that I did.

I never had any love or support at home when I was young. Due to this, I went looking for the affection I craved in all the wrong places. My search had led me to enter into several bad relationships, which had only resulted in more neglect and even abuse.

If you are currently experiencing what I had lived through, please know that I am here for you. I have been in your shoes, and I know how it feels. About the Author

I was born in Rochester, NY, and I graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. In 1992, I had my first daughter, Tareva C. Crawford. I was just 22 years old then.

In 2004, I decided to go back to school to study nursing. I also started my first project, the American Teen Beauty Reality Show, to help young people who don’t usually get the support they need in their homes. A year later, in 2005, I gave birth to my youngest daughter, Mykaela J. Crawford, at the age of 35.

Together with my two daughters, I decided to pick up and relocate to Charlotte, NC in 2016 to find better opportunities and grow my career. Wanting to be a blessing wherever I set my foot on, I then began writing Growing Up Without Love in 2018. I want this book to reach out to young people who have been raped or molested and help them find their way to healing.
