About the Author

In this followup to Hanford, author Robin Michael Roberts picks up the story of the small town in the big valley at the beginning of the 20th century and traces it through to the new millennium. This collection of vintage and modern images highlights the age of motorcars, flying machines, and big industry, along with stories of people—famous and not so famous—whose lives have intermingled in this Central Valley town. Roberts, a fifthgeneration Californian, has drawn images from the Hanford Carnegie Museum, Kings County Library, and private collections to chronicle Hanford's journey from railroad town to agricultural giant.
