Overview

Building on the wisdom and forward thinking of authors John Monagle and David Thomasa, this thorough revision of Health Care Ethics: Critical Issues for the 21st Century brings the reader up-to-date on the most important issues in biomedical ethics today.

Organized around four central themes in healthcare ethics (theoretical foundations, and issues for individuals, organizations, and society), the Second Edition brings together the insights of leading experts in the fields of bioethics, longterm care, health administration, and more. Designed for upperlevel programs, this text will challenge the reader to think beyond the existing system of medicine and inspire further exploration and thought.

Each chapter uses the most current examples and introduces new thought-provoking concepts.

New authors provide up-to-date chapters on areas of concern such as the ethics of spirituality and the ethics of disaster response.

New features such as chapter overviews, end-of-chapter discussion questions, and an extensive glossary further enhance learning.

The text is accompanied by instructor support materials including an Instructor's Manual with detailed lesson plans and PowerPoint lecture slides (available online).
