This is a noteworthy objective because, as the author indicates, most publications on this topic focus more on governance or financial aspects of a healthcare organization. This book covers all of these major areas in depth.
Audience: The author specifically indicates the book is appropriate for healthcare executives and administrators in charge of business operations management and recommends it be used in undergraduate and graduate courses as well. In addition, executives charged with accounting, finance, or project management may benefit from this book. The author, an associate professor at the University of Texas department of public health, has conducted research into healthcare operations management for many years.
Features: This is a good resource for individuals with extensive financial, accounting, and economics background. While its heavy use of formulas, tables, graphs, and matrices may initially intimidate some readers, the book includes basic and clear explanations, definitions, and a glossary.
