Clementine ran away from Willow Heights only to return years later and unexpectantly bump into her old flame Donovan. Donovan and Clementine never stopped loving each other and I loved every second of them rekindling that love and wading through broken hearts and old scars that only time can heal

Clementine is back home in Willow Heights after finishing her internship and MBA in New York. As she arrives in town, she drives past her grandmother's old home. She stops to reminisce when a big truck pulls in behind her. She didn't recognize the truck and couldn't see the person inside. Donovan comes home to see a stange car in his driveway. He never expected it to be the one person who left him seven years ago. After a few uncomfortable words are exchanged. Clementine leaves in the pouring rain. As she gets closer to the house she's renting, things go from bad to worse. But, leave it to Donovan to come along within minutes. Donovan offers his home until Celementine can get new tires. The next few days turn into weeks and old flame is rekindled. Donovan would do anything to keep Clementine in his life forever. But Clementine wonders just how far he will go to accomplish that. This book flowed really well. It was a great story and written very well. I would like to have seen the author expand on the drama a bit more. It just felt as though there should be something more to it all. As I was reading and things were unfolding, I had ideas in my head about what could happen. That's what made this a good book. What happened, wasn't what I expected. Although the drama seemed to be over and done with too quickly, it worked for the story. It didn't end the way I thought, which is always a great thing. *I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest reveiw*

Clementine left her home in Willow Heights behind years ago. She ran far and fast and never planned on returning. She went off to college to make something or herself, to build a life that was far from the pain and heartache that haunted her in her hometown. When Clementine left, Donovan was heartbroken. Lacking direction, he joined the military and went to war where his view of life changed irreparably. Years have passed and time finds Clementine returning to Willow Heights and running into the one person she never stopped loving. “She hadn’t counted on him appearing and shaking the foundations of her determination, dragging her back into the past like a riptide snaring a weak swimmer.” When Clementine and Donovan meet again the heat between them is obvious. Time has not dulled the spark between them and both try to maintain their distance and protect their hearts. After all, Clementine wasn’t planning to stay. She is applying for jobs outside of Willow Heights, while Donovan has just purchased a home and owns his own business in town. This battle between their hearts and their heads was what pulled me into this story right away. I could feel the connection between the characters but I also completely understood their hesitancy with the future still so uncertain. Ranae Rose did a great job portraying these conflicting feelings and really making the reader feel a part of the characters’ emotional struggles. “The kind of love that waits for seven years without changing is the kind of love that makes you stupid, sometimes.” I wondered from the beginning why exactly Clementine ran to begin with. We were given hints throughout the story and I hated the picture that was forming in my mind. When we finally do find out the truth behind why Clementine left and walked away from Donovan, my heart broke for both of them. Ranae had crafted such beautifully complex characters that I couldn’t help but love. Their pain was palpable, as was their incredible love for one another. Their story made me run the full range of emotions and left me wishing that we get to see more of Clementine and Donovan in the future!

I found the characters to be somewhat likeable but the storyline seemed to mimic a lot of romance stories, no originality.  The author show some promise and I would definitely read another story by her.  If you just want to find a nice read this is for you.

I received a copy of this book in return for my honest review Very Very slow moving....had hard time keeping my interest in this book. Had to force myself to finish reading it. even skipped a few page here and there just to push the ending. I like the premise of the story but just didn't grab me. Lacked passion between the characters and often times I was just confused!

I received a copy of this book in return for my honest review. I truly enjoyed this book and enjoyed finding out about the history of Clementine and Donovan. For all they had went through 7 years past and to be able to meet again and still feel that pull of love and desire is a wonderful feat! It just goes to show that true love IS strong enough to conquer all! Great Writing as always Ranae Rose!

3.5/4 stars....I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review....In Hell Without You Clemetine Lettvin reluctantly returns to her hometown of Willow Heights. Stopping by her deceased grandmother’s home for a little nostalgia she is suddenly reacquainted with Donovan Kemp, her first love, her only love and the man she left seven years prior to protect. I enjoyed this story and I enjoyed the characters, but I felt at times there was something missing and at other times it was a bit rushed. I thought both characters were great and were equal to each other. One wasn’t better than the other. Donovan was initially very mysterious and somewhat secretive. Clementine is very simple and in the beginning very stand offish with Donovan. I think their connection or relationship should have gone into more detail in the beginning, only because Clementine basically wanted to run from Donovan as fast as possible, but the reader knows how much she truly loves him. It would have explained her reasoning for her distance from him. I think Donovan’s condition could have been explained a little thoroughly also, like a backstory to how and why, a particular incident would have helped the story. The twist at the end was great, but it moved to quickly which didn’t elicit that feeling of suspense in the reader. All in all I do think the story and the characters were great and definitely worth reading. I wanted to see what happened with Clementine and Donovan and was intrigued the minute I started reading. I was never bored while reading, but wanted more from certain parts of the story and more detail.

This was a very well written book but the story lacked the passion to make me feel the magnetic pull between Clementine and Donovan.  Even the conflict was without suspense.  Clementine's theory and investigating was a better story line than what ended up happening.  I believe the story needed more about the couple as they fell in love and more reasons why they should fight to be together.  I just couldn't get into this book.   Thank you NetGalley and Ranae Rose for ARC.

The H/h have some history to get past before they can move forward. I would have liked to know the back story sooner. I could not tell if they were fighting over a juvenile thing or a serious incident. The "who done it" reveal was unexpected and did not fit the usual formula of the genre, but I liked it. It felt more realistic to me.

Clementine and Donovan were hot and heavy but tragedy struck and they had to part...Seven years later a chance meeting thrusts Clementine and Donovan into each others arms. After everything that happened they now have that second chance everyone dreams of. I felt so horrible for Clementine and Donovan's situation. I absolutely adored Ranae's story telling. She didn't hold anything back, the fear, the love, and the emotions. Ranae has this talent where she gets you up in a tizzy then makes you comfortable thinking everything is good from here on out. Then BAM! she throws you a curve ball and something else happens. Definitely a roller coaster ride that I enjoyed!

EXCEPTIONAL...BEAUTIFUL!! I was gifted a copy of this book by NetGalley for a review in return and I am completely grateful. Ranae Rose has woven a beautiful, heartfelt story of young love, lust and tragedy. We are introduced to Clementine and Donovan; young lovers who found each other when they were merely teens and needed each other most. Now 7 years later fate and mother nature combine to bring them together once again. The sparks that fly between them jump off the page and burn the reader. HELL WITHOUT YOU sizzles from cover to cover and wrings countless emotions from you. I sobbed, I screamed and swooned, by the end of this story I felt wrung out...exhausted. I finished this story in one sitting, unable to walk away from these characters and it took me 2 days to process and coherently voice my opinion on this book. Utter beauty, that's what it is. Tragedy robbed the young lovers of 7 years, 7 years where they each tried to run from their hearts by changing and hurting themselves, 7 years that in the end changed nothing. My only complaint is that I wanted more, more of their young love story...more of their new HEA...more of the joy that was so long deserved. Please read this, read it to fall in love...to fall in hope and mostly to believe in fate.

As anyone who reads my blog knows I am a huge fan of Ranae Rose.  I think she has out done herself with this book.  Hell Without You is a second chance love story that will pull every string you have.   Donovan was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks.  Clementine was the girl with the crappy home life who shouldn't be with him but their hearts know better.  To protect him Clementine goes away and cuts off all contact.  Now seven years later Donovan is back in their hometown struggling with PTSD from his stint in Afghanistan and trying to make a new start with his auto repair shop.   Clementine never planned on coming back to town or seeing Donovan but fate had different plans.  Can they make it work this time or will the past repeat itself? I've read and re-read this book and probably will reread it again.  I can’t get enough of these two.  Thanks so much Ms. Rose for the opportunity to read and review this book.
