Convinced that the only way to overcome his creative block is to regain custody of his daughter, Geain, composer Jerome tries to persuade his ex-wife and their social worker that his apartment, situated in a crime-ridden part of London, is a suitable place for Geain to live. When he enlists the help of a malfunctioning android, things begin to go seriously wrong. This enjoyable production of Tony Award-winning playwright Ayckbourn's (www.alanayckbourn.net) 1987 play features a fantastic cast that includes actors Jack Davenport and Anne Heche, whose deft and animated performances make it easy for listeners to visualize the action. A bonus interview with the playwright provides valuable insight. Recommended for those who enjoy sf, audio plays, comedy, and family dramas.—Lance Eaton, Peabody, MA
