She is the only girl in the competition and is ready to prove her bullies wrong. This is a story of empowerment meant to help motivate children to work hard and take chances even if the odds are stacked against them. About the Author

Carlie Charp is an alumna of the University of Colorado Boulder. Carlie obtained a Bachelor of Science in Creative Technology and Design from the College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2022. She is a Colorado native who grew up struggling with dyslexia. Her whole life people told her she would not succeed in academics or do anything extraordinary. She worked very hard to prove them all wrong. Carlie has come a long way from the little girl who couldn't read to publishing her first children's book. Carlie desires to empower kids to not be afraid to try, and to know they can accomplish anything with hard work.
